Lately, I have been going back to my old ways of eating. Not really a bad thing, just different. I look back about 4 years ago, when I started lifting and it is amazing at what I did to make those gains. I was working two jobs, the part time job not often, just enough to make ends meet. I was living in a one bedroom apartment, single, but seriously dating. I was a skinny kid determined to do what it took. I still have the drive, but it's just not the same as it used to be. My diet mainly consisted of peanut butter, whole wheat bread, bananas, cans of tuna, eggs, milk and I sparignly drank whey shakes because it was no always in my budget to buy more. But, it made me grow. It was the same thing day in and day out, but I didn't care, I was growing and it was nothing for me to eat two cans of tuna, 6 eggs, a shake, and a shit load of peanut butter, milk and bread every single day, all at the same times, perfectly spaced 2-3 hours at certain times. When i was at work, I used to make peanut butter and honey sandwiches because I did not always have the time to eat, so I needed a good energy source. When I finally got a gym membership and decided to do more than curls, DB presses, DB rows, over head presses, partial deads and chins in my closet hanging from the bar that my clothes hung from, I would throw pennies into a jar so I could afford to go every month. I would do my flat presses and DB rows on my coffee table too, which was a hand me down solid oak table. Still have it too. lol I even did dips on my kitchen chairs. Anyway, I just thought I'd share. Things are much better now. I am married and money is a little more comfortable. I still collect change though, old habits of being poor seem to stick around. Ahhh, the good ol' days. That was motivation!

Fortunately, I did alot of reading and found out the right way. Although I was doing a full body routine 3 days a week, I was only doing 3 sets for each body part and didn't do too bad. once I got the gym membership, I started a split.

I read too bro but got some bad tips along the way the worst one was just bulk to your reach your goal weight and don;t worry about adding fat... well 10 klbs this year 5 another 5 another you get the point....lol the theory the guys had behind this was the more muscle u add the easier the fat will come off. They were wrong for me anyway

When I started in bodybuilding, I was taken on by my older sisters boyfriend (at that time) and he taught me the basics, then from then on out I was more or less doing trial and error.

I was a lucky kid, who just happened to know the right people growing up...my dad was always in the gym, so as a fat kid, i always was there while he worked out or played raquetball....so i met lots of guys there, and when i decided to change my life around, they were more than willing to mentor me.
