| Hi, hows ya's goin, im Brad, new to the whole wieghtlifting stuff, and need a bit of info about this stuff. I've read around the site a fair bit and soaked up some info so here are some questions. Im 22yo 6'2 and weigh just 80kg(175lb) so im rather lanky =\ and wanna get bigger but not fatter so i wanna keep the body fat as low as possible. 1. Can i workout legs and arms in the same day or would it be better to just stick with upperbody one day and lower body another day? 2. To keep bodyfat low how much cardio must i do a week? And if i eat too much junk can i just jog it off? Also can i go straight from a cardio session to heavy wieghts or did i just burn all the energy from jogging. 3. I've read here that i should eat 1.5-2g of protien per pound of bodywieght to grow, so a min off 300g should be easy cause i can eat like a horse but i've used a calculator thing at http://aussiebodies.com/topics/muscle/tools/pcf/pcf+basic.asp?G=muscle thats say less, i got 208protien 289carbohydrates 86fat, but i choose to build lean muscle is that why its only 208 and no where near 300, can too much protien make me fat? or is it the more the better? 4. Do porotien shakes make much of a difference if my diet is already sufficiant? 5. I read that i shouldnt workout everyday, so im think Monday, Wednesday and Friday for the weight session and monday-friday for cardio, is everyday okay for cardio? [weekends off =)] Well thats about it...hope the questions are understandable =\ and some of ya's can help me out a bit, thanks =) |

| ok here's your answers 1. you can train arms and legs tobether but I do;nt recommned it in stead trian biceps when u do back and triceps when u do chest. 2. if your already lean don't worry about cardio unless u start getting fat (you colud do 30min of your off days just ot keep ur heart healthy). if you do trianing right after you do cardio all your gylcogen store will be depleated. So your body will start trying to burn protien (your muscels) for energy. if you do cardio and trining on the same day u want it spaced out... ideally 5 or 6 hours. 3. too much of anything will make you fat... protien,carbs or Fat....gaining and loosing weight is fairly simple if you want to gain u need to consume more calories than your burning off.... the opposite is true or weight loss. 4. if you able to get all your food intake form whole foods that's better.. only time I'd prefer a shake is right after your workout because your body needs protien quick and food won't get processed fast enough. 5. since your not fat I'd workout mon,wed,fri and do cardio on yuor off days don't push urself too hard and if your not gianing weight like you want this is proably the first thing that will be dropped unless there is sometihng messed up with your diet. |

| quick question for anyone out there: does it matter if i drink a protien shake right before i work out instead of right after? |
