Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I wanted to share this. Last week at a superbowl party I drank 12 beers in 5 hours. Just for fun we broke out the breathalyzer(its a real deal as one of my buddies is a parole officer) and everyone was blowing from .15 to .22 and I only blew a .07 and I was beer for beer with all those guys. Is it possible that because im eating 3500/4000 cal/day and 7 to 8 times a day that my body just metabolized this alcholol way faster than normal.:screwy:

While you are consuming alcohol 1 oz leaves your system every hour, so if you had 2 beers an hour, after the first hour you are losing one of them. How much do you weigh? How much bodyfat? Eating alot while you are drinking slows the absorbtion rate of the booze. Who ever blew .22 drank alot more than you did, and probably shots too.

Im 178 lbs 15%bf. Ive used that same breathalyzer berfore after drinkin with those guys and been way higher on less beers. With my buddy being in law enforcement, he takes it with him everywhere as he cannnot get a dui because it would cost him his job. The rest of us use it too for kicks. We always eat when drinking too. The guy at .22 was drinkin jack daniels though while the rest of us were drinking beer. But my other friend who is 215lbs and 25%bf drank a 12 also in the same time frame and he was .15. We had eaten but it was at like 6pm and we were doing the breathlyzer at around 11. Strange

EL2- i don't understand, according to your math if 1 oz leaves your body every hour,it would take 24 hours to burn off 2 beers, unless you're drinking a 40oz. 2 beers=24oz.????

Thats 1oz of hard liquor or one 12oz beer per hour.

i blew a .375 once. or 3.75 or something. i almost died! i just remember the police telling my dad i was lucky to be alive

im not el2 but i believe he was referring to just the alcohol. 1 oz of alcohol is metabolized. in a beer that is 5% alcohol by volume or 10 proof, there it is 5% alcohol. so a 12oz beer would contain .6oz of alcohol. so roughly 2 beers per hour would be metabolized. for hard liquor, you would take the proof, divide by 2 to find alcohol by volume and then multiply the volume you drank by the percent of alcohol by volume you consumed to find how much actual acohol you drank.

too much to follow? try this...

proof divided by2 = % alcohol by volume

% alcohol by volume x volume of drink = amount of alcohol consumed

amount of alcohol consumed divided by1 =how many hours it takes to metabolize

...i was told there would be no math:confused:

I was watching the pro bowl skills challenge this weekend and they had a physicist on showing the mathematical formula for the perfect pass. it was funny. something like the cosine of arm speed x weight of the ball divided by distance...ill try to google it.

One ounce of alcohol (content of 1 beer), not total volume. Make sense now?

Id be interested to see what the formula for a perfect ASS was!

My girl is trying out of the Lingere' bowl... THat's a good formula if she makes it.
