i was reading the back of a muscle milk bottle and i know that they usually over do the shit and make it sound incredible, but is there any truth to the "MCT's."

They claim its good for PWO and all this stuff?? Anyone have anything proving this or anything about it?

mct's?

MCTs, the predigested fatless fats, are more likely burned for muscle energy and heat than stored as fat. 20% of human milk and Muscle Milk lipids are MCTs. MCTs also promote positive nitrogen balance.

Don't know much about it. There is also a mct liquid. MCT Fuel may be used as an energy source to all organs and muscles. MCT Oil is also used to increase performance and sustained energy. I got that from a website.

I call bullshit. They're still 9calories/gram, that's the important thing. Whether they use coconut oil as their fat of choice or good old lard, its still all 9cals/gram.

From what I was reading about it, it sounds like they would be alot more beneficial if one was in ketosis.

its a fatty acid but not fat as most people understand it. ITs not a transfat like what most people are worried about. Its a fat that is easily absorbed and digested and is usually used when dieting, similar to most oils containing omegas. MCT is a medium chain fatty acid that it has been said that it is suposed to aide in the process of distibuting properties.

it helps to put on size.

but it says its good for PWO drinks, and it is fast, which slows down absorbtion.....how does that work?

Does it have caisen in it? Caisen is made from turning milk and is taken from milk to make protein. Caisen has a slow absorbtion rate but natural oils/fats when added to a protein shake can add a delay. The body has a mode of operation per se' It uses certain sources of energy (ie foods) before others. Carbs, fats, protein, I think in that order. Either way it shouldn't matter brotha as you know any protein is good after a workout.

i know, i always have a pwo shake with dex, thats why im wondering how these "fats" are good pwo because i would think they would delay the process of getting protein and glycogen to the muscles.

I would recommend you read a little more on how the body uses fats as energy
