Yeah, that is confusing. I thought in the comic Venom was some other dude, one of Parker's friends or schoolmate's or something. I didn't know Spidey turns into Venom. That is crazy. Looks good none the less.

Check this one out. Remember MJ's boyfriend, the astronaught? In this one it looks like he picks up the alien Venom stuff from his Mars trip. That is who I thought was going to be the next Venom, that astronaught guy. They are going to build some serious suspense for this movie, waiting till next summer to put it out.

venom was always a space creature that infected parker. carnage is similar, but was a clone of spiderman gone awry.

Venom was the suit that black goo that made him even better but a tad crazy..Once he was able to get away form the back goo it jumped on Brock the football guy and he became Venom when the goo was on Parker he was till Spiderman. That ha da few other offsprings to the goo like carnage and 1-2 others one being a female.

venom and spidey are 2 different characters. this alien like tar substance gets on spidey and controls him and his thoughts. that's where the black suit came from. the same substance is in venom making him mean and aggressive too.

so 2 different characters taken over by the same substance.
