For the record, I think the bible is absolute nonsense...but...to each their own. I believe the verse you're thinking of is 1 John 4:4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. Before you get that tattoo'd I'd look it up in all the different translations, because they tend to vary drastically in verbiage. You may find a translation you like the sound of more than the above from the NIV. You can easily switch between translations here: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1%20john%204:4&version=31

your not going to honestly tattoo something on your body from a nursery book? the fact that you had to ask exactly which verse from where it was from distinctly tells me you don't want to get that tattoo on your body, it's not true, it's not pure. Go with 666 instead, its just more exceptable these days.

For somebody who says the bible is nonsence you have a good knowledge of it. Anyways here is what I found John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world Best chapter in the bible would have to be Matthew chapter 7. Bear man - why are you wearing a cross when you are not christian and call the bible a nursery book?

Good for him to have so much knowledge on something he doesnt agree with that show great self awareness and intelligence..Only a fool would disagree with something he knows nothing about. Just think about all the bad press we get all from uninformed fools with no knowledge at all about what they look down upon in such dislike.

People eed to pay more attention to the bible. Everything it says is happening. Watch the news you hear of crazy stuff every day. Did you hear about that guy who threw them 4 kids over the bridge. Thats the type of people who dont beleive in the bible!

Me too, but I'm not religious. Whether its contents inside are true or not... the bible was written with only good intentions IMO. I don't see why ppl gotta dog it all the time.

So what ab out the ones who do read and believe and rape children rob steal and hurt innocent people? It is more of a faith thing then religion it is rare to see someone who is pure and follows thier religion and faith to the letter..My dad is one of them I am not. I believe in myself and that is all I need because when all is said and done it is my action from my decisions that make my life not some book or unseen power above. I totaly respect people and what they belie in as long as they dont get out of control with it and sadly that is usually the case..Not to shine bad on the bible but it was written in a day and age where people were easily swayed and probaly needed something like that it is what it is a book and there are plenty other countrys with a similar book and religion to back it along with it's followers. To each and their own I stay out of the wat unless you get in my way then you have to answer to me not any god or budda or devil.

lol that is hilarious. Rob I kinda feel the same way u do. grew up very religious. But it was the 2 faced people in church that made me stop going. They get so caught up in religion that they end up downing others.

It is more of a faith thing then religion it is rare to see someone who is pure and follows thier religion and faith to the letter..My dad is one of them I am not. While I believe and know that this happens - people of faith - faultering, I strongly believe that those of faith would have less of a likelyhood of going down the wrong path then those of no belief. Personally being from a Greek background nearly all if not 100 per cent of my relatives are strong believers of the bible and the Christian faith and only one of my relatives has a police record (however he was one of those who had limited knowledge on this subject). I'm not Christian myself but used to be but i do strongly believe that following the bibles messages will teach you many strong values such as respect and honesty. One important parrarel with the bible and society is that when people started disbelieving the bible society started going haywire - marrages breaking down, drug use on the ride, addictive behaviours out of control, theft, loyalty between friends and partners at a low. Just a coincidence? ? ? |

The cross you ask? I'm a rocker man i love the look and design of the cross has no religeous meaning to me whatsoever cause i'm a "realist" the cross is real..the invisible man in the sky to me is just a crutch for people to believe in if they need too, mabye it'll even happen to me one day i don't know,,i love the pentagram too..i have one on a chain but i'm not a satanist either..the 666 part was a joke...i never heard of someone having to be christian to wear a cross- or having to be black to listen to rap..it's crap anyway...just like religeon the big reason the world is as ****ed as it is' IMO.........why do i call it a book of nursery rhymes? cause i believe in shit i see or expeirience for myself...it's like the bullshit story some guy at work told you and you either believe it or you don't....you know when your being bullshitted...i guess i believe in evolution so i guess i need something to symbolize that....does anyone know where i can buy a pet monkey?

And 90% of them will pray to god and hope he will save them..I dont agree with your non belief statement I am spiritual and believe in many different things karma being the most. Most peopel I know who"dont believe" in a god and like me have knowledge of what we speak of are more likey to lead better lives then most of the hypocrites that pray to god go to church read the bible yet they stel from co-workers, hurt innocent people only think of themselves and how they can profit off the weak. I have seen it in many different countrys, religions and it is all the same there is this deep seeded want to "get thiers" almost like I am better then anyone else and I will do what I want and they almost use that religion as a crutch. All religions have bad seeds and to me it is and has grown bigtime in the last 25 yrs..Almost martyr like in some ways..I dont see your last statement as being of non-belief but just the opposite most of those people are the same ones you see in church every sunday or with a bible next to the bed.

Storm is right...there are bad people who hide behind status, religion, power...you can't take evil out of the hearts of men simply by baptising them and sending them to church on sunday. But it's easier to hide your evil if you act as the others around you, blend in... I'm Catholic, but I don't force my faith or beliefs on anyone else, I keep my faith close to my heart. You believe as you choose, but don't degrade another simply because they choose a faith that is not your own...or choose religion over the absence of.

it reminds me of a church i grew up in. about 4 years after i quit attending the pastor hired in a new youth minister ( keep in mind this is a baptist church not catholic:laughing:) after about a year of service one of the children came forward and said that he had been molested by this minister. soon there were i think a dozen or so individuals male and female that came forward. the minister had been convicted before and the pastor knew it but still allowed him in in good faith.:screwy:

Storys of that are never ending so many times preist/ministers or whatever are the worst of them all..Makes me sick to hear stuff like that and I cant even begin to describe the hell I would put one though if that ever happend to any of my family/friends.. They are no better then serial killers and murders no fcuking way I can forgive something like that..My dad he is the type that would pray for forgivness for the drunk driver who killed my sister or mom..Me I would hunt them down like a rabid dog and burn a 1,000 deaths into there mind and body and maybe in the end let them live..Sometimes living is much worse then death.

Christian dogma: A perfect, and all-knowing God knowingly created imperfect humans. The fact that they're imperfect is so offensive to God, that the only way to fix it was for God to become a human and be killed by humans, as a sacrifice to himself, so that humans who believe in the sacrifice can live forever.... :aah: I am a Pastafarian I'd highly recommend checking out the the below link. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster The Flying Spaghetti Monster has a plan for us: The 8 "I'd rather you didn'ts" I'd really rather you didn't act like a sanctimonious holier-than-thou ass when describing my noodly goodness. If some people don't believe in me, that's okay. Really, I'm not that vain. Besides, this isn't about them so don't change the subject. I'd really rather you didn't use my existence as a means to oppress, subjugate, punish, eviscerate, and/or, you know, be mean to others. I don't require sacrifices, and purity is for drinking water, not people. I'd really rather you didn't judge people for the way they look, or how they dress, or the way they talk, or, well, just play nice, Okay? Oh, and get this into your thick heads: woman = person. man = person. Samey = Samey. One is not better than the other, unless we're talking about fashion and I'm sorry, but I gave that to women and some guys who know the difference between teal and fuchsia. I'd really rather you didn't indulge in conduct that offends yourself, or your willing, consenting partner of legal age AND mental maturity. As for anyone who might object, I think the expression is go **** yourself, unless they find that offensive in which case they can turn off the TV for once and go for a walk for a change. I'd really rather you didn't challenge the bigoted, misogynistic, hateful ideas of others on an empty stomach. Eat, then go after the bitches. I'd really rather you didn't build multi million-dollar synagogues/churches/temples/mosques/shrines to my noodly goodness when the money could be better spent (take your pick): Ending poverty Curing diseases Living in peace, loving with passion, and lowering the cost of cable I might be a complex-carbohydrate omniscient being, but I enjoy the simple things in life. I ought to know. I AM the creator. I'd really rather you didn't go around telling people I talk to you. You're not that interesting. Get over yourself. And I told you to love your fellow man, can't you take a hint? I'd really rather you didn't do unto others as you would have them do unto you if you are into, um, stuff that uses a lot of leather/lubricant/Las Vegas. If the other person is into it, however (pursuant to #4), then have at it, take pictures, and for the love of Mike, wear a CONDOM! Honestly, it's a piece of rubber. If I didn't want it to feel good when you did it I would have added spikes, or something.

 Pastafarians also believe that pirates are sacred, and are the original Pastafarians. The disturbing rise in global average temperature is the direct result of the Flying Spaghetti Monster's anger and wrath due to the dramitic decline in the number of pirates on the planet. http://webpages.charter.net/enickma/globalwarmingpirates.jpg Obviously as the main purpose of Pastafarianism is to draw a satirical contrast with mainstream religion, the pirate beliefs of the religion are to discredit the ideas of intelligent design, by making clear that coorelation does not imply causation.
