Hi everyone!

I thought I would share with you something that is very close to my heart and that is the love for my country 'Ireland'.

The main reason I love my country so much is due to the fact that we have a very unique sense of humor of which I will be able to provide a great example shortly..

For anyone that doesnt know what the Eurovision song contest is it is one of the most widely viewed competitions in the world it is viewed by something like 500 million people throughout europe and the rest of the world and is basically a contest where each european country can enter a song which is decided by individual national song contests held throughout the participating countrys in kind of a American idol fashion to find the song and contestant to go to the main event in May which is hosted by whatever country won the previous year..

This is taken very seriously as the winning country would receive a huge amount of publicity which is very appealing tourism wise to all countries in particular in eastern europe where they need it badly!

The winner of the main event is decided by phone voting in each country and the countrys cannot vote for themselves.

Now that you know about the competition it is time for me to show you what Ireland this year has decided to send (We are the current record holders with 7 titles we did however come dead last,last year)

Again I say this competition is MASSIVE in europe and is taken very seriously by most countrys..Not Ireland this year! lol

Now I appreciate this is the worst song ever I would agree but you have to see the funny side because it is a deliberate 'up yours' to the whole competition because the Irish public voted this as our entry just for shits n giggles!

The turkey is very well known in Ireland and has been on kids tv for years it also ran for government and the presidency..sadly failed! Third time lucky for the Eurovison though!

The song title corresponds to the max amount of points a country can receive in the competition!

This is why I love my country!

U sure are praud. :)

I am praud to be Croatian because croatia was constantly attacked by invading countries. Hungary, Bulgaria, Otoman empire (200 years) contantly at war with ottomans. then nazi german invaded and then crazy organisation was in charge, then in 1945 it joined yugoslavia again and attacked in 1991 then it finally became independent for the first time in hundrets of years.
Population went from Millions to only 4 million :(
I am praud that the croats menaged to hold off some of the countries especially the ottoman empire for 200 years.

What about u guys? Why are you praud?

Thats fantastic..that means its doing its job! Come the contest in may half a billion people will be exactly the same way except for a handful of Irish people including myself laughing their ass off! :laughing:

Eurovision is in May sometime I think.. The Irish had similar troubles for the last few hundred years from the English..we had to battle for our Independance which we won only in 1916 after the IRA rose up against the English and won forcing the English to allow us to be a Republic but only giving us 26/32 counties.

That sparked all the troubles in Northern Ireland which lasted till last year when they decided to form a joined government..All the IRA bombings etc have now stopped so Northern Ireland is peaceful again..

I'm proud of my two countries - Greece coz of its rich and proud history which has endless stories of courage such as the 300 spartans, Alexander the Great Greeks conquest of creating the biggest kingdom of all time in only 13 years - the fathers of medicine, science, democracy a country of many historical glories. I've spent 6 months there in the past 3 years and seeing some of the things there is amazing such as King Phillips grave which is 2300 years old, the ancient Olympic stadium etc etc.

My other country i love - Australia coz simply ITS THE BEST F!@#$N COUNTRY in the world!!!! Economically very strong, top people easy to get along with, nice chicks, top nature, houses, everything - as I said THE BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD !

yes im in Brisbane and there loads of hotties at Surfers paradise :)

Croatia also did very well like the greeks did.

I have found chicks from surfers are probably some of the most apprachoable anglo chicks in Australia. More so then the Perth snobby aussie chicks. Croat chicks are also nice man they are bloody sexy. Thanks for the thumbs up from another fellah - just keep in mind that this is coming from a wog boy so next time if you hear some yobbo trying to bag the wogs due to them believing that they do not appreciate the worlds best country keep in mind some if not most if not all of us love this country as much as the red necks!

Going back to great batteles howabout Alexander the Greats - Great battle wher ehe wa soutnumbereed something like 6 - 1 - 30,000 Greek united forces - Athens, Macedonia, thebes etc etc ve 200,000 persians in the battle against King Darius where he attacked by the flanks and one. Now regarded as one of the greatest war battles of all time.

Only thing I hate about it is the taxes too high and rising property prices but hey you cant have it all ay?
