well, i would imagine, that you should just clean up the diet, slim down, and do some lifting weights. This will give your muscles some definition, thus giving you curves that you want.
As for ridding of the stomach fat, you will need to do cardio. Situps/crunches will make the abdomen muscles more defined. As long as you dont do weighted situps, you should be fine. weighted situps just add mass to the stomach area, thus thickening it up. to tone the abs, do high reps (20-30 reps) for 2-3 sets

well, as far as weight training goes, i dont mean train like the guys do. Im talking about light weights to give the muscle some activity, so that way you get just a little bit of meat on there for the figure to show.
As for diet, lower carbs and fat, but keep the protein at a good level (1g per lb bodyweight) to maintain your physique...

Im sure that your gym has at least a rack of light dumbells for the ladies. so what i would do is basically talk to some fitness females (im sure a couple that come around on these boards will chime in) and they can really give you a better insight than i can.

Hit those squats and leg curls. These will help develope the muscles in the glutes, hams and quads to help give you more shape. This is going to take some time too and not to mention, you need to do them right.

Studies have show that most women who weight lifting don't use enough weight. Do sets of 12 reps. By the 12th rep, you should feel burniing in your legs and not be able to do anymore reps. If you don't, then it's too light.

For cardio, hit the stair stepper. ;)

Post before and after pics please!!!

Congratulations!!! you will definitely have to post before and after pics!

as for training for the 5K run, you have to run to get better at running...theres no way around that.

yeah, i have to agree with GP....you can weight train your legs to a great extent, but unfortunatly the only way to get great at running is to do just that...but lifting may help with your speed...
