I'd say mirrio too unless u have access to and accurate method of having your bodyfat test liek a submersion tank.... electroinc devices and calpiers have too much room for erro IMO

Well here's the thing. I have gotten good feedback from peopleat my gym saying that i'm doing a good job with things(i assume they mean i'm getting fairly defined).I wanna take their word for it,but the funny thing is that i'm not even a big guy to begin with and probably never will be.I'm around 5'7 about 160 on a good day and have the hardest time putting on mass no matter how many calories or protien i consume.However,i have very good definition and don't have too much of a problem getting cut up as long as i'm following a pretty good clean diet and working my tail off at the gym.It's the overall bulk and density that i have a hard time with since i am a natural ectomorph(or i assume i am).I used to have one of those handheld bodyfat testers,but i felt that looking in the mirror is the better guage of seeing things firsthand and therefore have been relying on it moreso than anything and haven't took a bodyfat test in months,although i do see that i've gotten fairly tapered and have a small waist.I wanna get to at least 170 or a weight where it doesn't feel like i'm a little runt trying to bulk up.I don't know,kinda hard to explain lol....but any help would be appreciated.

Start working out with weights Every other day. and to quote you "i have the hardest time putting on mass no matter how many calories or protien i consume." I'm sorry to say it, but..... BULLSH*T!

Takes toms advice...workout everyother day. Then focus on your diet more. Your metabolism is so damn fast that you burn everything off when you workout everyday. Probably including some muscle protein.

Yeah,I understand what your getting at,and your completely right.Working out can be an addiction sometimes though and a very satisfying one at that.

then do cardio or get yourself a bike and go riding on your not weight training days.

It is definitely an addiction...and satisfying just like you said. I overwork myself sometimes too. I just feels so good to get that pump. I almost feel as if I get a damn anxiety attack if I dont work out for a day. But like tom said to me, you get big in the kitchen...make sure you eat before you workout too. Before and after., your body is going to need it when you are in the gym.
