I try my best to go to the gym at least 5 days a week. I spend about 2 hours and 30 minuets at the gym each day I am there. My routine is that I run at least 3 miles, work an hour and 30 minuets on weight lifting, and about 45 minuets stretching. Am I training too hard? Just right? Not enough? Can any of you guys give me some advice? I have been going through this routine for about 2 months now.

I'd say say your way training way to much....You should not train for much longer than an hour or your body starts to eat itself for energy and you dont want that....have your cardio on diff days then your workout days or atleast 6-8 hours away from your weight training and when your doing your weight training or cardio go home and eat something...THEN you can stretch once you fed your body the nutrients it needs Also I could be wrong but depending on what you do 5 days a week probably means your overtraining or your right on the edge.... thats just my :2cents: ....mind you im not the most knowledgeable one on these boards...

I just wanted to say big props for Matt Daniels. He is listening and retaining what he's being told. Good for you bro. I'm still haven't gone to the supermarket (stressful things in life) but will definitely get you a copy of my reciept after I go. And yes, your overtraining. There is no need to lift for 2.5hours a day. 45min is about all the time I spend pushing heavy objects daily. Cardio can go up to 45 minutes as well, but if I do cardio and weights on the same day, I do cardio upon waking up and weights in the evening.
