Hi everyone I need some advice on my training. I follow a 4-day split routine but I have a brachial plexus injury which makes every pushing movement very painful. Should I take some time off or can I go on training but switch to other exercises? I don't wanna lose the muscle mass I have gained over the last 4 months. I'm doing cardio 3x a week (the days I don't lift). Should I do HIT in order to burn more calories? Thanks for your advice.

Depends on where the injury is located at or what kind of injury it is. I am assuming that it's either neuroma or neuroplexia. If it's neuroma, you may never totally recover, atleast without surgery. With neuroplexia, it's a much higher possibility of a full recovery. Bottom line is, nerves need rest to heal. You will start losing muscle mass and could make the problem worse by continuing to train without letting it heal. Take some Ibuprofin and see if that helps. Recommended dosing for it is 800mg every 8 hours. I would take this every 8 hours for a week with an entire week of rest and see how that does.

Thank you for your answer, Shortz. I have stopped lifting one week ago and have done cardio instead. I took some Ibuprofen too and it really helped. I did biceps and triceps on wednesday without any pain. I can still feel something on the left side of my arm (probably b/c the nerve was inflamed). I'm gonna try back today but not any movement which requires my hands to be above my shoulders like lat-pulldowns.
