Hello group. I have been lifting for quite some time now, on and off. I am a hard gainer so its been a difficult road to really get any significant mass on me. My training routine I use is like a push pull split, I hit the muscle groups twice a week. Like I do Chest/Triceps on Monday and Thursday, Back/Biceps on Tuesday and Friday. Shoulders/Legs on Wednesday and Saturday usually. I have recently started changing my sets from the traditional 10-8-6-4 combination to going heavy and only hitting 6-8 reps max. My question is that I haven't really been getting the same pump, or pain the following days when training this way. The other way I almost always am in pain. I know that the pump doesn't really mean that much, but just wondered if this was normal. Any help would be really appreciated.

welcome to BBF don;t worry so much about the pump and change ur routine... if your a hard gainer u should be spending less time in the gym not more time hit each muscle group ONCE a week 3 day spilt in and out in about 45 minutes 60 minutes tops.

Okay, I actually changed it because my Dr. told me that I would have better results if I hit them twice a week. My workouts are short as I hit them hard and only do two sets for each muscle group, so a total of 4 sets per group per week. The way its setup my muscles are well recovered by the time I have to hit them again. The heavy weight low rep thing is okay but just are more prone to injury I find. Do you have a suggestion for a 3 day split like you are talking about? Thanks for the welcome, appreciate the reply.
