okay so i'm 26 years old 6' feet tall about 170lbs not much in shape i have a big chest that makes me appear to be buff but i'm not my chest is a little flabby and my arms are way skinny so here's my questions i don't want to get all big and stuff just get cut get some fine lines on my chest and some muscle on my arms i've been working out for about a month now 4 times a day for about an hour i have notice my arms getting slightly bigger but my chest seems to stay the same i know it's only been a month or so, so i don't expect to have cuts yet but does anyone have any recomendations for the chest? i just don't want to be doing the wrong exercise what i do now is sorry i don't know the name of it so i have to discribe,, i lay on the bench as if i'm goint to lift but i get 2 dumbells one in each hand 20lbs each and i bring them in and out as in a butterfly motion i do about 15 reps then rest for 10 seconds the another 15 reps, am i doing the right thing?

4 times a day is too much. slow your reps down. if you dont want to put a lot of muscle on id just do some pushups. instead of going 4 times a day why dont you try about 3-4 times a week.

bump to goldentornado pushups are great make sure u do them not only flat but with your feet elevated on something higher than your head.. possibly a chair? this will do the upper pecs also.

1st off welcome to bbf...4-5 times/day, what is your thought process behind this and what does your routine look like this many times a day? Sounds like you have access to dbells, so i would mix in flat press as well as incline press.BTW, the exercise you are doing is called butterflies...

you gain muscle mass when you AREN'T LIFTING, when you lift you're tearing your muscles apart, the recovery period is when muscle begins to build, gotta space ur lifting out or you won't gain anything. you should also be doing bench and butterflies to work on pecks n yea also pushups, ive been lifting about 1 1/2 months and i've gained significant muscle mass by working out 3 times a week, and eating a LOT of protein and carbs, i gained about 10 lbs of muscle mass already, n im only 17, so its possible for anyone
