Skull crushers are a tricep movement. If you lie on your back and get a barbell, holding it similar to a bench press. Lock your upper arms so they are perpendicular to your body. Bring the bar down moving only at the elbows, around 90 degrees so the bar is coming down just above your head. Then push it back up while keeping your upper arms straight. Sorry, thats the best way I can think of explaining it. Look at this website, its very good. http://www.exrx.net/WeightExercises/Triceps/BBLyingTriExtSC.html

Yeah, some things should really just be common sense and left out of the paragraph.... but maybe there are some people out there that just don't get it !!! Probably got the name "skull crushers" because someone didn't read the instructions.

I think the greatest mass builder for the triceps is the weighted dips. They seem to get right down to the bones!!! Anyone else agree with that?

You want your head hanging off the back of the bench and lowering the bar down at about a 45 degree angle, which hits the tricep heads perfectly. DO NOT LOWER THE BAR FROM A 90 DEGREE ANGLE, YOU WON'T GET THE FULL RANGE OF MOTION, YOU WANT THE BAR TO ACTUALLY LOWER SLOWLY PAST THE TOP MIDDLE OF YOUR HEAD AT A 45 DEGREE ANGLE. Look in THE NEW ENCYCLOPEDIA OF MODERN BODYBUILDING FOR MORE DETAILS. BIG GUNS
