I've got about 13 different upper body exercises that I do about every third day. I work three different sets of all 13 and can squeeze them all in in about an hour.

I've been doing something a little different lately and I wanted some opinions on it.

1st set - sets of 10 reps, regular speed, focusing on form.

2nd set - regular speed, increase weight, and decrease reps to between 5-7

3rd set - go back to set of 10 weight, but maximize time under tension at about 1/20th normal speed until failure.

This seems to be working pretty well for me. The first set gets me going really well, the second set I push really damn hard to get the lower reps out at higher weight, and the third set I feel like I'm really tearing down the muscles trying to go extra slow and control the shaking / twitching that starts to occur. I'll push that last set until I'm telling my muscles to go with everything I've got and they just aren't listening anymore.

It feels like I'm working harder overall when the workout is done...but what do I know...lol?

Thoughts on mixing it up like this...good, bad, neither?
