It will not stunt your growth trust me I started at a very young age and I'm 5'8" now and also the tallest guy in my short family.

jus be sure not to do too many overhead exercising with heavy weights, cuz it could damage ur spine and compact the vertebre closer, therefore making u shorter, not by much TBH but IMO, u dont wanna damage urself at such an early age with overhead lifting.

Yeah thats sound advice, just be careful since your bones and everything are still growing.

The weight you will be lifting at 16 will not be enough to fuse your growth plates.. i dont even think force can fuse growth plates. Your height will be determined by your genetics not your lifestyle. i started at 13 with light weights then heavier lifting when i was 15/16 and im 5'9" same height as my older bro who never touched a weight and about the same height as my dad.

LMAO, dude is 5'8'' and telling him it doesn't stunt your growth. Bwahahahaha. Sorry man, it was just funny. Well, the answer is a little more complex than a yes or no. It's common knowledge in the medical field that frequent trauma or major trauma can damage ones' growth plates during development. No one is ever told they should not exercise, but, PLing and Olympic lifting are types of lifting that should not be done until growth plates are attached. There is really no reason for someone whose growth plates are not finished developing to be PLing or Oly lifting anyway, they should be focusing on basics, because the prior are both advanced styles of lifting.

Funny if you look at the guys in my family or even the women like for instance Mom-5'0" Dad-5'4" Grandpa-5'4" Grandma-5'1" Brother-5'5" So yeah I did pretty well for the genetic hand I was dealt.

even if they did start that kind of style, which as you said would be a bad idea in the first place, the weight used wouldn't be enough to do any damage at his age.

Really, and how much weight do you consider "not enough"? Are you factoring in children with late developing bones? Children that are genetically stronger? Let's forget the weight for a moment and look at impact in general. Even at lower weights, the force produced upon impact on a bone is a much greater force than the amount needed to move the weight, so even a little weight can have a greater affect.

What a pile of rubbish, weight training will strengthen your bones. Full stop, no comment needed. I started training at 16, I am the tallest in my family. I am 7'. No weights did not stunt my growth and I trained hard as I could as soon as I started. I fact I believe the additional food and the weights helped me reach my full potential height, my brother is 1.5" shorter and very thin, he never got into weights so he never got into eating, I think it held up his height a little. Not to mention bone density of people who have played impact sports and weights compared to those that played computer games. Don't let it worry you, just get on with yoru life and ignore anything modern medicine tells you. They also say that some ridiculous low amount of protein is all you need, and everything else they say is based on commissions from the drug companies, you going to believe someone who gets paid to say the 'right' things?
