i have a couple of questions
When you are benching do u fully extend your arms on the way up or only half way?

Also how much pounds is the bar only?
Right now i could bench { kind of embarrassed to say} about 70 how can i conduct my reps so that i can increase the wieght?

All the way down (touch the chest), and all the way up.

I've heard arguments to do partial reps, they never made sense to me.

Olympic bars (the most frequently seen bar in a gym) are 45lbs.

its how it feels on you. i stop at about 1 inch above my chest cuz any lower makes my shoulders pop

i have to keep it a little higher than that because i dislocated my shoulder 5 years ago and it is liable to pop too. but you should be pushing the bar all the way to the top.

Something I notice people do in the gym that I think may cause shoulder problems is bring the bar down too high onto the chest.

If I bring the bar down to my nipples/lower pec, I don't have any shoulder issues. Obviously, everyone is a little different. Certainly I can handle more weight if I only bring the bar down halfway (I'm 6'3", so my long arms are not so great for the benchpress).
