I'm 21 6'2" about 175lbs and like 12% body fat. I've had a good amount of experience lifting, but I've really never been able to bench a lot of weight even though my chest is relatively strong. I always thought it was a mental stigma but the other day my friend said my triceps might be overpowering my chest when i'm benching and that I should tire them out a little before I bench. I tried it and it seemed to work but I figured I'd see what everyone else thinks. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks.

dont measure your strangth by just your bench press... a lot of people do that as a ego type trip in the gym... i'll try to dig up a good site for proper form for excercises... some people are just not able to do bench press with a lot of weight... try dumbells

If you want to get stronger your entire body has to get stronger so I say introduce these into your regime and see in a month how much stronger accross the board you get. Squats, bench, deadlifts, standing bb rows, and mil press I wanted my arms to grow and gp told me to do legs. this was about a year ago
