I have read some really unscientific and terrible training advise here from some of the members, so I thought I would post some Michael Boyle articles. If you look at training as an athlete and not as a bodybuilder you will be better off by far IMO. http://www.michaelboyle.biz/joomla/dmdocuments/choosing_functional_exercises.pdf

It looks good but its kinda common knowledge now and almost on every magazine cover minus the stabalizer/nuetralizer muscles idea. I agree with about 50% of it but I'm not sold because it seems like something for an athlete. I personally want to look like as you said a "troll" or in my eye's an ape or bodybuilder. I'll give the alternating dumbell presses a try but I kinda been doing them anyhow, and I'm not giving up on my leg routine for personal reasons, ie progress (trial and error) Great post. I hate you Foreman :D

I don't like his approach to discrediting old ways of doing things. I think everyone no matter what age is still managing a form of Trial and error in their routines, diets, and consistancies. The author you can tell is trying to sell you on a different way of doing things its obvious but even DC training method has shown to have great results my point being that everyone is different but he believes that because it cannot be proven, its wrong. I don't like that because leg presses and dlifts work for me not one or the other. I think this article is for the sedentary trying to get into shape or athletes but do you got anymore?

Personally I wouldnt follow any of his training programs as a BBer unless I wanted to become fitter or stronger. The way he trains would be better suited to an athlete obviously and i wouldnt call a bodybuilder an athlete, There is no 'one program works for all' due to different bodytypes as everyone isnt athletic. In the second link he said to change training program every 4-6 weeks because your body will adapt.. I'm not so sure but i see it as muscles dont know how they are being trained, they only respond to how they are being used and in turn will adapt to the weight and stress placed on them. Muscles dont have a mind of their own so how can you provide a new stimulus? I see changing training programs is to provide a variety to keep up motivation and avoid boredom. Other than that the rest makes sense.
