im looking to drop fat but in turn gain muscle



im not so worried about losing so much weight per say, i mean i understand that to gain muscle cal's and protein have to be in abundance, and to drop weight there needs to be a deficit of cal's. Im looking to turn what i have into muscle. so here is my thing i have hit the dreaded plateau, i see no significant gains muscle wise, and no losses fat wise. I lift 4-5 times per week for an hour to an hour and a half per day.

here is what im taking

MuscleTech Hydroxycut Hardcore
MuscleTech Leukic
Creatine Monohydrate
Whey Protein Shakes (power form)
Multi Vitamin

my lifting day protein intake is about 1g per 1 pound of body weight

non lifting day i take in about half of that

im going about 30 sec breaks between reps
lots of supersets
fairly form strict (i have a very good idea what im doing)

any ideas what i need to do to shed the gelatenous protective cover i have created for my muscles so they can be seen?

here is a little something i just got to thinking about tooling around the site, would it be eaiser for me to cut the weight/fat first the go back to the muscle building? or should i stick to what im doing but add in more cardio? let me know what you all think, if you are wanting a goal weight im thinking like 250 any less and im looking like a skater punk...LMAO

worry about cutting weight first bro.....from your stats you sound like a monster. if your able to cut down into the mid 200s then start up with adding clean mass youd be a beast. post your diet and people will definatley help you. also theres no reason to be lowering your protein intake on off days PROTEIN= GOOD lol get rid of the creatine and leukic also. if your trying to cut creatine is pretty much pointless:thumbs:

if anything yor protein should be higher. have you looked around for a good diet?? im always bulking but cardio 2 times a week for me keeps the fat from coming on too quick. i would start out doing cardio 3 times a week. get your BPM in the morning and i can go off that to give you a good cardio schedule

ok creatine is almost gone its giving me some bad feelings when i take it after my workout anyway, my diet is mostly meat, i throw some green in there now and again, bread and stuff i try to stay away from just cause i dont want the extra carbs,

here are my normal day eating habbits

breakfast: 4 eggs 1 slice reduced fat cheese, 2 slices of turkey, and some hot sauce

bruch: normally same as breakfast, or i will substitute oatmeal in for the main

lunch: chicken breast normally 2-3 breasts, skinless and baked

linner: tuna steak

after linner snack: protein shake

Dinner: something chicken oriented/ or venison of some sort normally corn or green beans

I lift at about 8:30pm - 10:00pm

then a protein shake and a turkey sandwhich

most of the time i drink water about 4-6L per day
milk and juice are the next things added into that drink mix

very very little coffee and pop maybe 1 cup of coffee a week and possibly a can of pop a week

if i add in cardio in the early am should i stick with this diet? or should i change to something a little different?

Cut your cals below maintenance -- way below maintenance. No way a +300 person is plateaued, when you get to 12 - 15% bf, then you may begin to struggle.

If that were my diet, the time spent sitting on the toilet would be all the motivation I needed to improving it . . . (add some vegetables and fiber -- eat less in general). I find that eating less meals reduces my appetite. Once you hit 10% bf or so you may have to add meals back, but worry about that then . . .

Protein is supposed to be based on 1-2g per pound *lean* body mass (depending on where you need to set it), your body fat doesn't count toward your allowed protein intake -- reduce it.

Here is some good news: beginners can lose fat and gain muscle at the same time. So for 2 - 6 months or so, you should be able to do both.

if i cut meals down will that not slow my metabolism down? if so should i substitue in caffiene pills to keep the body pumping? This would be after im done takeing the Hydroxycut.

No, You're metabolism is shot regardless because you are morbidly obese (sorry to be so blunt, keep reading, good news follows).

As you lose weight, your metabolism will *improve* (lucky for you!!). What's true for people at 10 - 15% bf does not apply to you. When you get there, then you may have to worry about your metabolism, but your body is going to reward you for losing the excess fat. Better thyroid sensitivity, improved test production, greater energy -- none of this is true for a dieting bodybuilder. Enjoy it . . .

Otoh, you're trying to drop 80 lbs of fat -- this is going to take a while. The focus rt now has to be on somethign you can maintain for the next several years or so. It doesn't have to take that long to lose the fat, but you're going to find that weight loss doesn't occur evenly all the time, life, women, stress, they all interfere with our best laid plans.

You can't manage a diet where you're hungry all the time, or where you're lethargic. Make sure your new diet makes you feel good as well as look better.

ok so here is my plan let me know what you all think give me changes and what not that you would do.

MON: 5:00am - Eliptical Runner 15min on the cardio workout HR is like 158
staionary bike 15min cardio setting
8:30pm - typical chest workout

Tues: 8:30pm - typical tri, bi, shoulder workout

WED: 5:00am - Eliptical Runner 15min on the cardio workout HR is like 158
staionary bike 15min cardio setting
8:30pm - typical back, trap, abbs workout

Thurs: 8:30pm - typical leg workout

Fri: 5:00am - Eliptical Runner 30min cardio setting
8:30pm - light weight tone lifts

with this workout i would continue a diet of 4 meals daily trying to stay about 2500cals or less but keeping protein in about 200g +, and also in this diet add more greens, salads, fruits things to that nature.

I think it will be fine -- you will be hungry alot at 2500 cals probably, you might need to go a little higher to maintain sanity -- but try it out. Find the lowest number that works for you (you might try tapering down, alternating days, etc.).

Personally, I would lift heavy, as I find light weight boring, and I won't do it. I also think you will enjoy getting stronger, particularly as a beginner. where the increases will be dramatic.

The final thing is cheat days -- you're probably going to need them. I plan them (I enjoy looking forward to them), but you can do them as needed. Give yourself 1 good full meal as a cheat. Don't go crazy, but eat something enjoyable. The point isn't to be miserable.

To me, you've done alot of planning and thinking about it, which shows you want to do this. Nevertheless, there is no replacement for actually doing it. Good luck!

Here's a fun thing to track (and a reminder why daily weighing is demoralizing for the mentally weak).

If you're loss is like mine, you will find that you will lose fat in bunchs. SO you will hold basically steady at a reduced diet for like 7 - 14, even 21 days. Then over 24 hours, drop 2, 3, 4 pounds while peeing a bunch. Its related to hydration apparently (your fat cells can retain water even after giving up their energy).

Somehow, refeeds and this whoosh effect are related I think. But thats getting into technical mumbo that Storm and competitors would know about -- not me.

I personally would drop all the supplements and perfect your diet. You seriously have some work to do there. For example; Eggs in the morning turn that into a

Meal 1.half dozen egg whites, a bowl of oatmeal and a glass of non fat milk/OJ.

Meal 2. should be something like a shake with high protein and low fat

Meal 3. 2-3 chicken breasts, or 2 cans of tuna, or 3 fish fillet, or an 8 oz steak w/ 3-4 oz of shrimp, with a half a sweet/any potato, a cup or any type of rice but not white, and a cup of broccoli

Meal 4. Shake 50 grams+

Workout

Meal 5. 2-3 chicken breasts,or 2 cans of tuna, or 3 fish fillet, or an 8 oz steak w/ 3-4 oz of shrimp, and the rest same as meal 3 or a large salad

Meal 6. a Shake or a small meal like above minus cabs salad only

Usually you will get hungry again so cut carbs off at around 3-5pm and if you choose to eat them eat them after a workout. If you get a sweet tooth have a few tablespoons of some fat free jam or a diet soda. If you are craving carbs and feel depleted eat some rice cakes but not a lot maye 2. Milk will make you feel full and some supps to help your cravings are usually good fat burners check out Storms site they have effedrine

as soon as the muscletech candy is gone im gonna curb the pills including my multi that im currently taking, i find on days that i take it i have to eat a lot with it or im chunking 15-20min later, and if i do eat a lot with it im hungry again within an hour or so.

the leukic tastes good but thats about the only thing i seem to be getting out of it.

hydroxcut is getting really really weak i dont even notice the buzz i used to get from the caffeine.

as far as today im giving a trial run on cals, im eating a typical days worth of food and seeing what im racking up as far as cals go. i will actually get it all together starting monday.

yeah i know i just find it very amusing, im not afraid to take any of it from my experience's in life my body can handle most anything with little to no side's
