my biceps used to be the biggest but now triceps and deltroits are gonna beat it. My triceps and deltroits are getting bigger and the biceps are still the same I do 2-3 sets of 10-12 reps of hardest weights i can do in that range. what am i doing wrong? i started doing the lower part of biceps with the curl bar so when i do it standing i dont cheat (u know what i mean). This is what im doing right now http://bestbuyfitness.webdirectbrands.com/product_images/pid_421_20041014121150.jpg the reason im doing that is because some really big muscly guy told me to do that first as a begginer. been doing that for a few months. is it time to move on to this? http://www.ast-ss.com/jeffwillet/RoadTo2003/images/Curl_Bar_4-4.jpg thanks for any comments. if u need any more info just tell me. thanks...

well if you are looking to "get your man huggers bigger" try lighter weight more reps with perfect form and control, take em slow, make sure you start with some heavier weight so your not sitting there for an hour doing the same thing and not feeling anything. once you get your biceps stressed a bit then switch to a lighter weight. with light weight i say go till failure on reps rest for 25-30 hit it again, and try supersetting with different curls and things i.e. concentration curls with light weight seem to get my bi's pumped up really well ill go till failure with both arms then ill grab the curl bar and do light weight standing 1/2 curls, then switch to the upper half of the curl, good luck with it

hey big_a dont say tone its gay. And there is no correlation with doing light reps and more of them for weight loss. When you cut you should do as heavy as you can to keep as much muscle as possible. And inregards to the bicep question, mine suck, always have no matter how often i worked them they never grew, so i just stopped doing them. I do like 4 sets a week and thats it. I think if you just focus on getting bigger all around, theyll keep up.

now it no longer sounds gay, its on fire now

say man the best thing that works for me is, i do biceps with no other exercise included i work my bi's til i can't wipe the sweat off my face. and i alwayz keep them guessing, also try focusing more on the most hardest exercises..... like me i get a mordarte weight and do barbell 21's are get a partner and do barbell preacher curl burnout..... and don't rest so long, 30 second at the most.. ------------------------------------------------- 20 1/2' biceps 17' forearmss .5% body fat MONSTER :banghead:

I gotta say I agree with the idea of just working the biceps just like any other muscle in the body you want to grow. 6-10 reps 3-4 sets as heavy as you can go. Eat in a manner condusive to lean mass gain, and dont' worry about it. It'll work itself out.

ok im confused. the other guy says go light and u say go heavy. i must say light does sound like u wanna loose weight. i agree with heavy. ok i will try that. thanks.

yeah dont toss out heavy weights at all, when i say use lighter weight i mean, do your regular weeks workout, i do chest on monday, tris bis and shoulders on tuesday, traps back and abs on wednesday, and legs on thursday, then i use friday as a light weight day, ill start out and do a couple sets with normal weight, then drop it lower and crank out as many sets and reps as i can. the way ive always understood it you use lighter weight to get ripped up, and you use heavy weight to get stronger. i could be totally wrong but thats the way ive understood it since i started lifting i high school

lol i dont get why people insist on saying lighter weight "rips u up" lol by lifting at higher reps with lighter weights all your doing is burning calories. you wont add ne muscle and without muscle your not gonna have that so called "ripped look". by lifting heavy weights its gonna cause your muscles to get bigger and bigger.....diet and cardio is where you cut fat not weight lifting......and big a IMO your overtraining you need to give yourself some rest in between your workouts. three days in a row your training the same muscles......chest days works tris and shoulders, back days work bis.

yes i do agree with you there but the way my time works out i dont get to work out on the weekends, if i could i would be in the gym every other day. as far as the lighter heavier thing goes i understand if from your point as well, and i think what it boils down to is as you said you burn cals drop fat and it would seem that the muscles that you have would seem to show more not really get bigger

bro lifting three days a week is good enough. i see the best results when i lift three days a week some people go with 4 days that is unless like cani's quote says...."you're chemically enhanced" lol

ah yes....do a dropset on your bicep exercise and that will get ya pumped. i cant stop the strech marks from growin!!

sounds like you need to change up your bicep routine more, different excercises rep range, weight, intensity ect ect.
posted by canibalistic_js
Sounds like you need some rest and put it to rest. Your bi's will get huge by holding huge weight. So on your back day add on another 100lbs and do a few more reps don't stop till your nose bleeds. lol

well I read in this book to gain muscle I forgot the name of the book. In the book explains how to work out the biceps lets say you doing arm curls with 40 pounds ok. It say that you should first warm up with half the original weight which is 20 pounds. warm up curling 12 times each arm. then do the 40's like 10 or 12 reps 3 sets then after done with the sets grab the 20's do as many as you can till you cant no more. Thats what the book says Im trying it right now hopefully it works, you can also try this with any muscle
