I had been doing a routine for a long time..2 months or so..and whatever muscle I worked out would be sore for the next 2-3 days. I just started the Max-OT training program, which is a proven program that many people use, and I'm almost not sore at all the next day. What does this mean? In my old routine I did more sets per muscle group but with lighter weights. Was I possibly over-training in my old routine?

DOMS is not the best sign of a good program.

for example my biceps. Once a week I used to do 1 warm-up set of barbell curls, then 2*8,7 barbell curls, 2*8,7 alt. dumbbell curls, 1*7 hammer curls, 3*8,7,6 preacher curls Now my new program really emphasizes warming up. Theres 4 real light warmup sets (none of which you do until you fail, just a light weight to get the blood flowing and do 12 reps, add a lil more do 10, add a lil more do 6, add a lil more do 3. then the real sets start) 2*6 barbell curls, 2*6 alt. dumbbell curls, 2*6 preacher curls.
