Hey all -

My name is Blake Nielsen. I'm 20 years old, I have been lifting on and off since I was about 16. Just recently I decided to take it a bit more serious. I lift and do cardio every day. I now weigh about 165 and I'm 5'10. I'm trying to consume 200 g's of protein a day, but that's hard as hell.

I have two questions:

1 - How the hell am I supposed to get that much protein in my body?
2 - Is it ok to do cardio right after my weight training? It seems like it takes the blood out of the muscles I worked out and takes it other places.

Thanks,

Blake Nielsen

you get that much protein in your body by eating all day long... i like to do my cardio in the morning by itself

What am I supposed to be eating though? I have two shakes a day, each with 50 g's. I have tuna sandwiches for lunch and chicken with vegetables for dinner. I'm going to start with the egg whites... what else is there?

man i dont know what you are doing wrong but 200g aint nothing i get 300-400 every day an im staying below 2600 cals most days, but as said above i eat almost every 2 hours. egg whites for breakfast, can of tuna about 2 hours later, venison steak, chicken, or fish steaks and some veggies for lunch, can of tuna 2 hours later, then chicken or something 2 hours later, workout, protein shake afterwards and good supper, then maybe eat again two hours later if there is time, good luck with it man

Ok there's another question I need help with. My workout is as follows:

Monday - Back
Tuesday - Chest
Wednesday - Arms
Thursday - Shoulders
Friday - Abs and Legs

Also, cardio every day.

Is there something wrong with this? Should I change anything? If I don't get sore does that mean I didn't get a good workout? and vise versa?

Thanks,

Blake

whats your bodyfat?? any reason for doing cardio everyday? i would take wednesday as a rest day and bump everything forward a day so you have a rest on wed. and sunday.

I'm not sure my body fat. It's gotta be low, I play soccer and I'm probably "skinny" compared to all you guys. It's probably like 8%

That's really good advice. But that'll cut into my snowboarding time, damnit! I guess it's an acceptable price to pay.

so do you need to run everyday for soccer?? if so i would take in alot more carbs then a regular person. youre burning alot of cals and carbs so eat lots

posted by bnielsen1504
I actually don't currently play soccer, I just said that to give a visual of my body type. I don't have to run... I just thought I was supposed to do cardio every day. I guess I assumed wrong. How often should I?

well if you're 8% BF then you dont need to run. if you wanna do 10-20 minutes of moderate cardio a week for your heart you can. you need to eat more and forget cardio
