Well one of my favorite bball players does 100 ab crunches and 200 pushups after waking up and before going to bed and thats all he does and hes really toned. Is that a good practice?


Also I do not have access to a benchpress nor do i have the money to purchase one and i just wanted to know if anyone has a good routine that involves lots of push ups?

Depends on your goals. If your trying to put on mass, i wouldnt do it. Itll keep your muscles in shape so to speak but if you lift weights, it might just lead to overtraining.


Being toned or cut just comes from low bodyfat. Not by doing any specific exercises or rep range.

Well im starting to eat right and do cardio so the bodyfat should come off soon but i just wanted to get REALLY toned.

Well if you want the toned look then just continue what youre doing with cardio and diet.

So what routine would you guys recommend for a fat burning pushup workout?

Like 3 sets of 20?

20 pusups is all i can do in a row

I am doing INs\Outs to get my pushups up. Every time I hit a door way I drop and do 20. and any where in my house needs 40 so I just nock them out at once. I usually end up doing 500-600 a day depending on where I go. It is helping by increasing tone and is good when you couple that with running and an ab circuit. I usually do the push ups, run, 60 sit ups, and 100 flutter kicks. However I am just getting ready for INDOC(special ops), so there is probably a better workout to increase your numbers. I would also try incline pushups, clap pushups, etc...

lay on the ground and put your hands under your butt. Lift both legs 6" off the ground. lift you left leg to a 45 degree angle from the ground and then back down. Raise your right leg to a 45 and back down. This is a 4 count excercise so each leg would have been raised 2 x per rep. I do about 100 and get a great burn. They help alot with swimming and finning(swiming with fins)

if you play ball for HS or college you have access to a gym. If youre in middle school, you dont really need to be working out much yet.

I DO ALOT OF PRESS UPS WHEN I TRAIN MY CHEST ON A MONDAY. IF U CAN ONLY GET 20 PRESS UPS ALL AT ONCE, THEN NEXT TIME JUST BEAT IT AND THAT WAY YOU WILL MAKE PROGRESS.i ALSO PUT A 15 KG WEIGHT ON MY BACK WHICH MAKES THE PRESS UP HARDER. I USED TO BE ONLY ABLE TO DO 3O PRESS UPS AT ONCE BUT OVER SOME TIME SPENT ON THEM I NOW DO 80 AT ONCE,THEN DO A FEW MORE SETS TO FAILURE WHICH ENDS UP SOMETHING LIKE A FEW HUNDRED.
