| Hey, Been going gym for a few months. Friend saw me the other day and said "Doesn't look like you go gym"...Obviously things need to change now because im seriously pissed. So, no more easy peasy machine, "i'll hold that for you while you work on THAT muscle training....its time for something a little more, well, hardcore. Im going back to basics. My plan for the next few weeks is to do COMPOUND training This is my plan to work out Monday Wednesday and Friday. Same workout, but more weight or reps each time and moving exercises around to surprise my body: Bench Press - 3 x 8 reps Military press - 3 x 8 reps Squat 3 x 8 reps Deadlift - 3 x 8 reps Im going back to eating pasta, rice, potatoes, tuna, chicken, bananas etc. Im 5ft 8, weigh about 150lbs, male, and a little fat around my tummy. I will also do cardio on the off days. Any comments/suggestions please? |

| yea screw the full body workout and do a different workout split. Read around the board and see what everyones is and get a better idea. What exactly are your goals? |

| I have read that a full body workout is the best to gain overall strength & size - which is my goal - but I don't want to get HUGE - I want to keep my slim look. I also HAVE to work out 3 times a week with weights because it helps me keep off the damn depression. Are you suggesting this buddy... Monday - Chest and Tri' Wednesday - Back and bi's Friday - Shoulders and legs Or somethng like that? I dont think I would feel right only workin gout one bodypart a week i.e. only back and bis once on a monday - Mind you, you know more about this kind of thing than me, that why I'm asking... Please let me know - Cheers bro |

| Trust me bro you hit it hard enough every workout and you will hardly have a problem doing it. 4-6 exercises sets of 3-4 reps of 8-10 controlled movements pausing before the negative. |

| Full body sucks big time. Do push/legs/pull or an upper lower split. |

| OK how does this sound then: Monday - Chest and Tri Tues - Cardio Wed - Back and Bis Thurs - Cardio Friday - Legs and shoulders sat - rest sun - rest |

| Yes that looks alright.. but if your trying to put on mass, why are you doing cardio? .. I just dont think its necessary unless you want to assist in fatloss. |

| lol your friend probably hating on you lol ........nobut 4 real ...what the hell u think in 3 times a week u gonna get big ...uhmm no buddy!! and all that cardio u gonna b doing for what?? what u need to do is workout hard sweat ...focuz ... dont talk to other ppl int he gym dont stop ...even if u do light weight DO THE EXERCISE RIGHT! slowwww feel it ......i say u do monday -chest and bicep .... tues- shoulders and u better do Traps too ..DO TRAPS! ..... wens- do legs squats! blah blah blah thurs- if u want take off depends how u feel uve worked out during the week. friday-back and tricep...so u can go out lookign swoll during the weekend!! !lol and do Trap from the back tho with the barbell behind you! and Saturday if u take thursday off ....go do push ups dips cardio pull ups workout on ur forearms sunday off..........Eat alot get focus ..AND AFTER EACH SET DONT TAKE SO LONG TO START THE NEW ONE 60 seconds ...dont start wondering off ....have a bottle of water next you! EAT ALOT! !!! Look into Supersets also might work better for you! And Eat ALOT... Also do abs after everyother workout....IF u got a Ipod Take it and focus ....!!! |

I dont think working out my body every day is going to get me massive, but I do think I need to do cardio because I have some fat around my manboobs area and I HAVE to get rid of it!!! Unless you reckon following your plan is going to get me ahead? Well, Im going to give ur advice a try - lets see what happenz ;) cheers |

| Buddy man boobs?? and u 5'8 150....u got a weird body.....hey and i aint tell u to go everyday to the gym i told u take thursday and sunday off and on saturday do lil pushup dips pull ups type of workout......MAN UP and hit the weightS hard man! !! |

| theres no need to do the dips and pushups workout......you work those muscles on different days and they need time to recover. and if you got so called man boobs then try adding mass maybe itll even you out. (cuz like cc said i doubt you have man boobs at 150lbs) the more muscle and weight you put on the less itll look like man boobs...then when you cut itll look even better. |
