When i do my chest press i really go for it, I have found out that i get alot of chest pain days after i have done the exercise the pain is not my muscles what i have of them but its my rib cage i can crack it like people can crack there fingers which eases the pain a little i need to know how to stop this.
Also i want to take steroids but i dont want to die at the age of 55 of liver diease and i want the muscles to stay big when i have stop them and carry on building more muscles the right way. please dont say i dont know about steroids i have been to my local doctor and a speical group to advise me on what to do :screwy:

From what little information you gave me, I would say that it sounds like you have some cartilage trouble. But, I would need to know some more stuf first. Do you have trouble breathing? If so, is it from pain? Does anything make the pain better or worse other than cracking it? for instance, does taking a deep breath hurt or does blowing out all of your air make it hurt or make it better?

THere is a slight possibility that you have a fracture too. I would probably see a doc about it just to be sure that it's nothing serious. It doesn't sound serious, but then again, I don't have X Ray vision nor can I assess you well from here.

Anyway, it sounds like you are still hanging on to some myths about steroids. You do lose some muscle when off steroids, but this is why it's important to have a good base when starting, you have something to fall back on. If you use steroids as a way to break through barriers instead of a crutch, you shouldn't have any problems.

I have a very broad chest and I get the same thing sometimes. I also get it if I sleep on my side all night. Keep in mind that there are joints where your ribs and sternum meet. Mine pops in the morning and then all is fine.
