Hello everyone,

I'm 19 years old, 6'1, 240 lbs. I have a gut for sure, for the past month I've been doing various excercises just with dumbells, and walking for 30 mins each day as well.

I've been doing lots of reading, I've gathered that most people support free weights/gym stuff when it comes to serious bodybuilding. Given my age, I've obviously got to start from somewhere. So my question is, if I maintain an active workout every other day on a Bowflex, if I select an ideal entry level mass building diet, eating 5-7x a day in various portions, would a Bowflex atleast sculpt my body into something respectable? Also coupled with taking something like Nitrix (which was reccomended to me by a few parties)?

My workout every other day as is as follows (with dumbbells, no equipment yet),
-6 sets of curls (10 reps each set)

-6 sets of bench press (just laying on back, 2 second lifting up, 5 second bringing the dumbells down, same rep format)

-3 sets of holding each weight out sort of like a crucifix at either side of my body, sorry I'm not even sure what this would be called.

-6 sets of just standing and lifting the weights over my head

I'm out for explosive strength, I don't just want to be tone and pretty, the type of work I want to do would definitely require atleast noticable strength. Point a fool in the right direction =)

First off I guess you want to drop some weight and tone up.. thats what most people want... whats your current diet???
You need to join a gym... you need a large selection of weights so you dont just use the same lifts and over again... though you need to always do deadlifts, squats etc. alot of sample routines on here just use the search button..
