when i do curls my forearms begin to hurt like hell. it feels kinda like a shin splint between the wrist and elbow. doesnt matter if i use straight or easy bar. when i finish my set and put the bar down i have to release my grip slowly. if i let go quickly it hurts to bad. all i can think of is i must be using to much weight and to lighten up.

anyone else ever had this prob?

yes i did.it for me it was a torn tendon.lay off doing curls for 2 weeks ,get some cissus and start doing curls ez bar only or dumbells but much lighter higher reps thasn before.also do some ultra slow reps, helps alot.worked for me bro

i have always gotten that pain wether working out my forearms or doing curls i have never had it get any worse or have had a problem with it and im moving up in weight it feels like a slight pain shoot threw your forearms as soon as you let go of the bar rite? i have had that problem for years so i dont really see it going away.. but i dont see it doing much harm if it hasnt done anything.

Sounds like tendonitis, its an over-use injury which is why its very common for anyone who does weight training. Best thing to do is rest it ofcourse and when you do train, warm up for longer then gradually increase weight... I think youll eventually figure out how to handle it like some of the guys here have.

yeah if it is hurting that bad you need to give it a break and it will heal.
