hey everyone, Im kinda new to bodybuilding, 21, been working out for about a month mostly HIIT. Im relatively skinny with my upper body but, I have a pretty big gut. Do I loose the fat first then build muscle? Or the other way around? I heard its not the most efficient to build muscle and loose fat at the same time. can anyone help? Sorry if this question is stupid. I'm 5'10" and 168lbs. Thanks.

You do both at the same time. What is your diet like and what are your workout routines

yeah for the first few months lifting hard and still mixing in cardio will drop the fat. after a while though you will start to see muscle gain but not so much fat loss then switch up a bit. dont concentrate on scale weight cause you will get pissy when you see yourself losing then gaining.

i think that has alot to do with the fact of why people give up so quickly... they don't see pounds falling off everyday but dont realize that gaining muscle/strength while they are w/o adds weight. every pound of muscle you gain allows you to burn an extra 50 cals/day so in the end it will help immensly
