Last 2 weeks I have been working hard at trying to lose some weiht. My diet has been good but not brilliant. I have only drank alcohol w nights in te past 2 weeks. My diet has been ok wit me eating all home cooked stuff except for twice. Last week my cardio session involved - 3 walking sessons with a total of 220 minutes of walking, 30 miutes skipping, and a 6 k cardio jog/run session. The week before I also did 4 cardio sessions 2 of which were also a 6k jog/run and 2 * 45 minutes walks.

Instead of my bodyweight going down though - it seems to have risen going up about 1 - 1.5 kilos. I am constatly feeling tired even after a good nights rest and even though I have only had 1 cigarrete in the past week, a little moody and even though I work hard and eat relatively ok I seem to struggle to lose the fat which leads me to believe I may have low test levels. What can help elevate testesterone levels naturally? I have tried tribulus but many thing it is a gimmick - I have daily dosses of zinc.

Any suggestions or feedback will be appreciated.

Post what you would normally eat throughout the day. I think cardio can be a bit over rated for fat loss if it is not intense and frequent enough. Try working with diet alone for losing weight before resorting to cardio so you know what is working.

Oh and how much do you weigh now?.. have you always been a bit over weight?

Nah i been in good shape most of my life except when I go overseas then I pack on weight and hafta lose it. Been close to 6 pack at times.
You say that cardio may not be good for fat loss however in the past I have used the same sorta traiing and lost weight - I dunno maybe had a bad couple of weeks.
I reckon I will take a break from ejeculating for a few weeks to fix or attempt to fix energy levels as I always feel lethargic. I read on a forum elsewhere that this guy tried it and it worked wonders for him after a few weeks.

Didn't say cardio is not good for fat loss, just think people should pay more attention to diet first instead of trying to make up for it with cardio. If your really concerned about test levels get a blood test.. ejaculation won't change test levels.

Thats not what I have read according to a magazine I think it was muscle and fitness.

It was discussed in a earlier thread a few months back now.

As for the diet - today I had a few spoonfulls of poridge for v breakfast, luinch a bowl of beans, and dinner a al little bit of pasta like 10 forks full with some salad. Wasn;t much at all.

I know what people say but I have spoken to a doctor on the issue and I trust his word.

The diet is shocking, where is the protein? I'm very surprised why you wouldn't be in starvation from that. I would be extremely lethargic with that day. I've posted this before but I will post it again now to give you a good idea.

Protein:
- chicken breast (avoid skin)
- tuna
- any kind of fish (salmon is very good)
- lean red meat
- extra lean pork
- turkey breast
- skim milk
- egg whites (and a few yolks)
- seafood (shrimps etc.)
- whey/protein powders
- cottage cheese

Good Carbs:
- natural oatmeal (quaker oats - no added ingredients)
- basmati rice (or any long grain variety)
- lentils/beans
- sweet potatoes
- pasta
- apples

Good Fats:
- almonds/walnuts (raw)
- fish oil
- salmon
- flax seed oil
- omega-3 enriched eggs
- avocados
- olives/olive oil (raw)

Avoid:
- sugar
- white bread
- Lunch meats are junk too - get some real fresh meat instead.
- butter/margarine
- heavy sauces
- sweets
- fried food (even olive oil is BAD when heated)
- coke, 7up, juice etc. (choose the diet/light versions - but better skip altogether)
- alcohol (empty calories - shown to dramatically lower testosterone, weaken the immune system, and limit your growth potential. But on the occasional glass of red wine can do wonders as far as general health goes.)

Training
As far as training goes, make sure your sessions are intense and no longer than 50-60 mins.

Increase Test Levels:
- sleep (8+hrs)
- flax seed oil/fish oil caps
- heavy, intense lifting
- rest
- zinc before sleep

Cheers for your feedback - Zinc before bed??? Why not zinc in the morning. I have been taking it in the morning.

Continuation of this thread from a month ago. This week I did 45 k's of cardio on foot which included 2 * 10 k's of jogging with brisk walking. Some of the cardio was really testing and doing 45 k's in one week i believe is a good achievement. (was 6 sessions of cardio so averaged 7.5 k's of cardio per session all done on foot by 6 sessions). Point is I don;t think i can do more cardio in a week than what I had done. My diet was o.k. I believe noty many carbs, no soft drinks, did not binge drink or have any take away food. the only bad thing I believe i did was drink 3 low carb beers and one scotch and coke for Greek easter. i cannot for the life of me work out why the scales are not going down and instead went from 76 kilos to 77.8 after doing all this. I cannot figure it out. Anybody got any suggestions?? Maybe faulty kidney (which I may have according to blood tests) leads to fat gain???

If its going to be this hard I''ll think of packing it rather than training about 10 hours only to see scale's go up.

All I know is that in the past i would get the results with the training i m diong and don;t know why I am not getting results now.

fair enough I am getting older 32 now but it should not be this hard gamoto dialo.

Any suggestions ?

Have you ever tried the ketogenic diet?

posted by MegaA
Hey mate thanks for the reply. In the past I have tried to eat low gi and low carbs foods without eating too much junk except maybe a meal or two of junk on the weekend. Also probably have binge drank every weekend or just about for the past few years at least. Having said that - I have been able to lose weight without killing myself with the above habbits.

No I have not tried a ketonic diet - I will not give up for another 4 weeks - I will keep doing cardio and see how it goes and in june I have some blood tests to do so that may reveal something.

Any suggestions would be great.

Start counting calories then and make sure your in calorie deficit. If you are still gaining weight then see a doctor.
