Hey everyone my dad was just asking me if I could get him a diet plan so I figured ill come here I suppose if anyone would make me one I should give some info about him. He is 56 years old and has heart and back problems so all he can do is speed walking and light cycling and he's not much of a fitness freak he just dosnt like being overweight...Its all I really know about his physical side atleast so if anyone could make a me a diet plan for him for weight loss please tell...Isnt a lot of weight loss to do with like eating so many calories for a while then dropping like 500 calories every two weeks or something like that... :ohcrap:

weight loss is fairly simple.... oyu neee ot burn more calories a day than u take in. what ur father needs to do is write down everything he eats for a few days and figure out how many calories he consumes to maintian his weight then subtract 500 from that and see how much he looses the goals is 1-2 lbs a week. any more and he will loose muscle. he wants to try get all his carbs in early in the day... so something liek no carbs after 7pm. as he progresses he will have to adjust his caloric intake. cardio should be done first thing in the mornuing as well any more questions just ask

Well what if he gets to like 1000 calories?

highly unlikely that will happen but here is a example for you. let's say your dad need 2500 calories to maintian his weight so to start his diet he drops down to 2000 calories... he begins yo loose 2 lbs a week (which is ideal) then 5 weeks in he has lost 10 lbs but doesn't loose any weight for the next 2 weeks.. that means he wants to drop more calories OR up his actvity level....he doesn';t necesaryily need to drop 500 calories again... I'd actually recommend at that point he clena pu the det even mroe if necessary and up his activity level
