I am 26 years old and have 2 children under the age of 4. I gained 50 pounds after using the depoprivera shot for birthcontrol. (within 3 months). Since then I have gained around 20 pounds having children and every day living. I am severely unhappy with myself and need help getting into a diet plan and a good workout that I can do anytime. Our town does not have a gym and closest is 60 miles, so I have to find something that works around the house.

If anyone can help It would be greatly appreciated.

Good to have you MsJami.We don't have alot of women on here but that should not stop us from getting you motivated to get in shape.
Now most ppl think that a wonder drug will make them lose all the fat on the body.Not true.They do help but your diet is what is going to make you lose fat.I live out in the country and it takes me about 30min to drive to get to a gym,but that does not stop me.I go as often as I can but mostly work out at home.I have a treadmill and a bench with lots of weights.First thing is we need to get a diet plan down.
Stop eating fried,greasy foods.All the unhealthy throw away.Start eating as much lean chicken and fish with most of your meals.Also don't start skipping meals.Its a misconception that eating less is healthy.Eating 5-6 small meals throughout the day will keep your metablolism up and help aid in fat burning.
Next,look for a used treadmill at garage sales or something like that.Get some of that down and we'll talk more.Good luck and ask away.Thats what we're here for.

everything Reg. said. But I'd like to add, keep coming back to report your progress. Whether this forum or another, it helps if you have a reason to try and get in shape. I set out to get myself back in shape about 9 weeks ago and this forum is a major part of my motivation. Good Luck!

I had a girlfriend that had the same thing happen she got on the shot and gain quite a bit of weight. If you can't get to the gym go for a 20-45min jog 3-5x a week. Try some elastic bands and incorporate some resistance training no matter how small it is. Also educate yourself on diet, alot of people think they know how to eat, but really aren't very informed. There's alot of info around here so utilize the search button and if you have anymore questions feel free to ask. Don't mean to run you off at all but if you are looking for female responses you can check out anabolicmadness.com (any mod can edit that if you think I am whoring that board just one of the 3 I go to on a regular basis) Seems that almost every girl that comes here gets scared off by Storm. :D j/k Stick around you'll learn alot here.
