| A male weighing 200lbs at 15% BF has about 130,000 calories stored. That's anough energy to run from Washington D.C to Miami. However, the majority of fat is stored in adipose tissue and is not readily available. It must first be broken down into fatty acids, transported from the tissue to the muscle by the circulatory system, and transported across the plasma membrane of the muscle and then into the mitochondria. |
