Hi im about a 150-158 pound guy and needs some advice. I want to lift weights but Im not sure what I should be doing. I have the weights but i have a few questions. Should I be buying whey protein right now as I dont wheigh that much or should I be eating more now and buy protein later? Also would there be large advantages eating 1g per pound of protein as im no body builder but rather get in better shape? There are protein powders which have little calories like this but lots of protein and servings. http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=142448&catid=31664&trx=PLST-0-CAT&trxp1=31664&trxp2=142448&trxp3=1&trxp4=0&btrx=BUY-PLST-0-CAT or should I use protein which has many calories to gain weight?

You should eat everything in site if you want to add mass and muscle. Protein shakes are great, if your goal is to gain I would get some with high calories. Check out trueprotein.com they have great prices, you don't need to get brand name stuff. Althought I am a big fan of muscle milk but it's spendy taste really good though. Eat often 6 small meals a day. feel free to ask questions we'll be glad to help.

Thanks alot, i've got 1 more question for you. If i bought just the whey protein (as its way cheaper than a weight gainer, and virtually no sugar in it) could I mix like oats, peanut butter in it to make my own weight gainer without the crap they sometimes put in the commercial stuff like, how they put 30g of sugar in it so you gain weight but not good weight? Thanks alot for your help!
