Here is my situation. I broke my leg about 18 months ago and it has finally healed up. The leg still gives me some irritation but nothing to serious. I've spent the last 18 months getting into the worst shape of my life. I'm 6'1 and now tip the scales at a petite 280 lbs.. I spent the last two weeks lifting at a medium intensity. I wanted to give my body some time to get used to the weights and not be so sore that I couldn't lift for 4 days. I picked up the intensity yesterday and feel like I got hit by a car (in a good way). I've also been doing cardio 5 times a week.

My concern is to increase my strength and add some muscle. However, I really want to drop the rest of this flab and get to 200-210 lbs. I've been doing some reading and I'm still not sure about diet. I hear people say you have to eat. Not necessarily large portions but you have to eat 5-6 times per day and to eliminate the sugars and fats from your diet. Any advice on how to best achieve the goals of dropping 70 lbs. and increasing my strength and muscle tone would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Body For Life Diet

You're right, you do want to eat throughout the day (clean) just in smaller portions. Bump Cuts, Body for Life is a great starting place. As you'll read in here more than once, as long as you're taking in less calories than you're burning, you'll loose weight. But as AMER stated in an earlier thread, make sure you are eating enough protein so your body doesn't turn on itself and start eating the muscle you are trying to build. Good Luck

Use fit day.com to track your calories. Based on your height and weight, Id say 3000 cal a day with a workout program and youll lose bodyfat. Try too keep the protein high, like 45 percent or more and 30-35 for carbs, and under 20% for fats. 5-6 evenly balanced meals. For the training, Id do 3 full body workouts a week(stick with 3 or 4 sets of 12 reps) and throw cardio in on 3 other days and take a day off to cheat and eat whatever you want. It tricks your body and speeds up weight loss believe it or not.
