i eat oatmeal like everyday. I eat it because of the advice from this forum saying it is great for getting lean and it is all natural. i was wondering about the other cereals on the shelf. Like the other quaker cereals, cheerios, grape nuts post cereal, kashi, etc. I was curious as to what you guys think. Are these good for weight loss, especially body fat loss. I was eating this a lot lately when I was sick and it kept me full but it also made me go to the bathroom a lot. I gues because of the fiber, some are high in fiber. So, what do you guys think. Should I keep them as part of my diet or just stick with the all natural oatmeal. By the way I was eating the cereal as a snack, is this ok too?

Thanks for any responses.

DO NOT BUy ANY KASHI. that stuff is disgusting. dry unflavoured horrible. grape nuts are pretty good though and with their high fiber makes for a great alternative to oatmeal. Good stuff but after 3 years every morning i am looking for change too. i just bought the kellogs all-bran bran buds. Pretty much grape nuts. 1g fat, 24g carb, 3g soluble 10g insoluble and 2g protein. like i said kashi has a lot more protein but tastes horrible. this stuff is good. i combine it with low carb milk and it makes for a good morning.

kashi hot cereal is a good break from regular oatmeal. $2 for 8 packs of it, 9g protein per pack, tastes good...cant beat that.

I have had bad tasting kashi, but the new stuff, its vanilla flavored, is pretty good.

I used to eat alot of oatmeal but that got old. Now I stick to lucky charms, fruity pebbles, cocoa pebbles, marshmallow mania pebbles, boo berry. Im not exactly leaning out by eating these cereals, but the taste is oh so damn good.
