uh yea they are. read any bodybuilders bulking diet and i guarentee they have a potato on there.

just cause they are in someones diet doen't mean they're necessarily a good carb the are medium on the gylcemic index wihch menas the are rated 56-69 which means they are not necessarily the great choice but not considered ot be a "bad" choice. and lots of guy eat mcdonald's when bulking so if I follow your logic they must contain great carbs cause peopel eat em.

no i just think its a good complex carb. mcdonalds is FULL of fat and sodium...unlike a potato. so IMO i think its pretty good in a diet.

I dont know. I see alot of people eating oatmeal and its in the 60's on the GI which doesnt make it any better than potatos in that regard. I figure If youre eating it exactly the way it came out of the ground and hasnt been refined or genetically engineered than its gotta be decent.

Theres a differebce between potatoes and oatmeal - Gi for potatoes is 98 for russett and between 70 and 90 for white potatoes, instant potatoes 85 whereas red skin potatoes have a Gi of 58 and sweet potatoes have a GI of 50. Oatmeal has gi OF 54 which is pretty good, not great but good - therefor yuo would say that potatoes are a no no and oatmeal is a good breakfast cereal.
