There are alot of BCAA supplements out there, and I've heard alot of people talking about taking them. I've always assumed that a diet sufficiently high in meat and other varied types of protiens would provide more than sufficient BCAA's as they naturally occur in red meat, milk..etc. IMO I've always considered it covered within the quentessence of the "food is the most anabolic thing in the world" concept, thereby rendering BCAA supplements a marketing gimic to a certain degree... Thoughts?

BCAA's arent a marketing gimic. they are very essential to being anticatabolic and gaining lean muscle mass. its worth buying it because even if you ate steak and eggs all day you wont get all the creatine or Aminos cuz its not enough. and lets face it, our food has gone down hill in vitimans and minerals

since we're talkin about bcaa and vit. im not makin a joke or anything but need to know whats the best multi vit. and do u take bcaa's with that or are they in the multi vit. what brand or where is the best place to get them. im startin a new diet plan and workout and need the multi's and bcaa's to complete everything. i also bought some stuff called myostim its soppused to block ur myostatin gene is this i a gimic or does it work and is it worth it. thanks

Almost definitely a gimic. Genetic medicine is regulated and prescription only. The life extensionist foundations vitamin is supposed to be very good. So is powerpak. Those are both way too expensive for me, I use something much cheaper (and probably less effective). No one needs additional bcaa's (they may need more protein). To get the effects studies have shown you will need to take large, cost prohibitive doses. Any less, and you're not going to get any benefits.

That's kind of what I was thinking. If you're taking in 1.5+ grams of complete protien per lb of lean body weight, I'd think that would provide all of the amino acids necessary for most intents and puposes.

ive taken the mega men vit from GNC. i seen some people on here sayin the one a day for men is pretty good so i guess i will try that and that myostim stuff is made by champion performance. i took for about two weeks but ur supposed to go a month and they u will see a measurable difference. u have to take 4 pills in a 24 hour period each pill 30 min before u eat. i got sick and it took about 2 weeks to get over it so i didnt finish the bottle but i was wandering if anybody here has used it or knows anything about it. it does sound to good to be true if read up on it. thanks for the help.
