I'm a little confused here....

In order to gain muscle, don't you need to bulk up?
When you have exta weight on you, isn't it easier to turn the access storage fat into muscle?

I was reading one of the other posts, and Shortz made a comment on how the guy should focus on building lean muscle and stay away from bulking..

"One!...and two!....and three!....and...f-f-f-fo......CRASH......Owwww my toes.."

I didn't read the post bro but I'm assuming what he may mean is when bulking you need to eat but try and still eat healthy that way you add more quality mass in the end than fat mass.

it is necessary to gian alittle fat when bulknig but u don't want to go over board.

for example

bodybuilder A bulks on junk food and adds 25lbs in the off season. but only adds 10 lean labs.

Bodubuilder B adds 15lbs in the off season 10 of it lean 5 fat

in the end bodybuilder B is better off as he has less fat to loose to get cut.

Smallguy has is right. I think that eating a high cal diet can be good, but "bulking" the way some people do it just rediculous. Anything above 14-16% is starting to be too much for a BBer and not worth it. Just remember, the more fat you put on, the harder it is to shed without losing muscle. Kinda seems redundant, doesn't it?
