:banghead: I am 5'8" and my weight bounces back and forth between 230 and 260 for the past 2 or 3 yrs. I have tried a bunch of deits and can't seem to make any of them work(probably because of the lack of visible results). Recently I have started to exercise about 2-3 times a week for about an hour each time(anarobic mostley), and have basically stopped or dramatically slowed down my carb intake and have been eating pretty much nothing but salads, chicken, friuts and non-bread related breakfast foods. If I am going to make this work I need some help figuring out what to eat, calorie intake, basically anything that anyone can come up with to help me loss about 30-40lbs of bodyfat. I know it's probably gonna take forever but time is on my side, what with winter(wearing clothes that hide) coming up! I'm willing to stick with it I just need a little guidance to get me started. Thanks

If you want to drop fat anaerobic exercise is not helping.. you need to have aerobic exercise such as swimming or joggging/running because it will burn alot more calories than a session in the gym. Maybe you havent made the diets work bcause you never gave them a chance or didnt stick to it strict enough.. give it time, its not a fast process but it will happen if you keep to the job that has to be done. I think it really depends how much you want it which is why alot of people fail and give up because its "too hard" or takes "too long". All the best with the new attempt and i think you on the right track this time asking for advice, theres alot to learn.

Your metabolism is probably ****ed. You need to get like 6 meals a day with lotsa protein. You probably need to eat more than you think to spark your metabolism.

Height: 5' 8" Weight: 245 Body Mass Index(based on height & weight):37.2% Age:24 Base Metabolic Rate(harris-benedict):1869 (Schofield formula):2091 Lean Weight:154 Harris-benedict says my target goal is: 1500-2060 calories per day for fat-loss I recently started tracking my calorie intake on FitDay.com and was wondering what I should be eating(healthwise) for rapid weight-loss! Can anybody hook me up with a good diet? Lately I have been cutting out mostly carbs; I eat alot of chicken, veggies, friut and a couple steaks. A good amount of eggs and drink almost exclusively water. Is this a good start? Can u give me some pointers of guidelines I haven't been able to find. I've done those paid guaranteed fat-loss plans and they don't seem to work. Can anyone help me get in shape or what?

No your base metabol rate is how many calories you would need to maintain if you did absolutely nothing all day long. you have to factor in your activity level on top of that. for your weight and age its probably more like 3,000 cal/day. I would start at 2500 and go from there. You should never be at more than a 500 cal deficit. Thats 3500 a week and that equals one pound of fat. that should be your goal.

thanks for the help man. I will try that for a couple weeks and see if I drop any weight. I play basketball 3-4 a week for about 2hrs each time, and I enrolled in a weight training class for spring. With the cal deficit and the activity I should be on the right path. Oh yeah, what should my protein/carbs/fat % be for a day or the week?

Its not bad looking if you find yourself unsatisfied by your breakfast ditch the yolks and add like 4 more eggs, by just eating the whites you'll cut all the fat and cholesterol out. So you could eat like 6 egg whites get around 30g of protein and only 102 calories. Egg whites are like 90% water or something like that so eat up there life savers. The fruit for late night snack I would replace with maybe fat free cottage cheese or a protein shake. Hell if its pure hunger alot of times at night I'll fill up on sugar free fat free jello. 10cal a cup, nothing in it but nothing to hurt you either, just be prepared to piss a few times in the middle of the night if you go that route. Just remember the first few weeks of dieting are tough but then you adjust. Once you drop alot of bodyfat your metabolism should start picking up and you'll find alot of people that eat really strict mon-fri then enjoy the weekends. My advice is give yourself at least one cheat meal a week to keep your sanity just don't eat like an entire pizza but have a couple slices if you want.

 Yo sorry to bug you guys. This is the only site or anything really to help change my weight in like 3 or 4 yrs. Down to about 228 from 262 before Thanksgiving. I'm soooooo pumped!!! Ok need some more help, as always. I heard that you want to maybe change things up to keep the body guessing? I started running about 30mins, twice a week and seem to have really burned some fat from it...I think. My energy level is definitely higher. Should I be taking some supplements? I take Lipo6(fat burner) before my run, twice a week. Seems to help with making it through the run(extremely out of shape). So, anybody want to help me lose another 28 lbs; so I can be in the best shape of my life(24 yrs of fatty fatness)! Thanks for your support!

Normally eat whats in the diet I listed on the other page, but I am a college student; so I have to go out and drink like twice a week. I lift heavy on Tuesday and Thursday and before I leave the gym I do a 30min weight loss program on the running machine. I take these bulls#$t pills I got from GNC when I tried to loss weight a little while ago. I tried taking them without working out and they didn't do anything besides make my feel jittery. But, when I take them before the workout they seem to give me enough drive to lift heavy and run after I can't feel my legs. That's what I've been up to. I'm thinking about bumping the running up to three maybe four times a week. But we'll see, for know I'm just trying to fight off the urges when my friends eat fatty or fast food. For know I am just astonished by the results, flabbergasted even  !

I think I figured it out...kinda. Well, I'm down like 3 notches in my belt and down to about 224.2, but I have toned up alot, more than I expected to in such little time. Energy is great and starting to loose those pesky "man-boobs" and belly. Here's what I eat: Breakfast: 6 egg whites(scrambled, sometimes with cheese; but only like once every two weeks.), 2 pieces of wheat toast, tablespoon of grape jelly, 2 Bob Evans sausage patties Meal #2: Protein shake (double scoop of 100% GNC whey) Lunch: Normally, like 2 legs and 2 chicken wings or two light hot dogs on wheat buns Meal #4: Protein shake (same as above) Dinner: 8oz flank steak, 2 chicken breast, or 2 legs and wings Meal #6: Protein shake *The chicken legs and wings I get from YaYa's; they sell cold packs of 10 pieces of chicken (mixed), and they are only like $4 plus they are buy one get one free. Once again looking for somebody to tell me what I can improve on with my diet to maximize fat burn...wthout taking any fat burners: I don't do well with stimulants. Thanks for all your help, I just wish everyone had a spot to go to for help like this...You guys saved my fu#*ing life... Diabetes runs in the family. Only 24 more pounds left to reach my goal and I have until August!
