In my experience you're not looking for 20% to get into ketosis, you're looking at keeping your carb intake to under 30 grams per day. Do this by simply avoiding all carbs. You'll have to get used to being a meat eater exclusively for a while. Get some ketone test strips to tell you when you're actually in. I'd say go somewhat clean like chicken breast and tuna for the first week. Once you're in ketosis you can incorporate more fatty meats into the diet without having to worry about it too much. Ketosis is the easy part of the CDK, the tricky part is deciding how to properly time and structure your lifting / carb loading. For me it worked out well to cycle once every week or two weeks (depending on how I was feeling).

One recommendation I'd give you for sure is to wait 3 weeks for your first carb load. As soon as you're starting to register ketones on test strips, your body's organs and skeletal muscles are starting to adapt to ketones. Your brain, however, takes at least two weeks to completely switch over to using ketones for fuel. Until that happens you're going to feel irritable, tired, and overall like crap. Cycling a carb load before that happens might prolong the crappiness. It's a pretty dramatic and noticeable change when your brain fully switches...you'll feel it happen. You'll suddenly go from hating life to feeling better than ever. Like I said, look for that to happen about two weeks out. Make sure you're taking in alot of water. Also take a multivitamin and a fiber supplement.

Here's the article that I based my CKD off of.
http://www.thinkmuscle.com/articles/mcdonald/training-on-ketogenic-diet.htm

I just switched back to a normal glucose metabolism for a little month long mini-bulk. I'll be back to the CKD again soon as I still have some more cutting to do.

I'd recommend you google the crap out of ketosis and learn everything you can about it first. You'll be switching your body's metabolic state into a different operating mode than you're used to. It can be an "interesting" experience. You don't have any sort of diabetic issues do you?

Happy to help however I can.

non-sugar Fiber tablets is absolute must have.. I didnt realise how important it was until it was too late. Also you might want to supplement with BCAAs to just help preserve as much muscle possible.
Talking about it makes me want to go back on this diet, results were great. I have a keto e-book i was going to upload but it exceeds the limit so if you want it i can email it to you.

I think diabetics have trouble regulating blood ketone levels which can result in a potentially fatal condition called ketoacidosis. I don't know if this exists under glucose or ketogenic states, or both. Diabetics have trouble regulating glucose vs. insulin. I would assume that glucose restriction could cause problems.
