Bro, you need to write down what you eat now (daily) so you can figure out what your BMR is, then make a 6 meal a day diet where the total calories is less than your BMR by about 500 to 1000 a day less. You should also make sure that 4 of your 6 meals a good wholesome food (no meal replacements) with a good balance of healthy (preferably low glycemic) carbs, protiens and essential fats. There are many different theories on what percentage of each, some people have 50% carbs, 35% protiens and 15% fats etc, etc. just make sure you eat enough protiens with each meal and maybe cut carbs out the last 2 meals before bedtime. (another theory) Bottom line is to cut calories below maintenance so you can lose FAT, if you try to lose too fast (as we all would like to) you will definately lose muscle as well. Shoot for 2lbs a week and follow it thru. I'm in my 23rd week of dieting and am down 95lbs so far (lost fast in the first several weeks but has since slowed) I WAS a fat bastard, shooting for lean...... good luck and if your diet is right on, you'll know cause it won't even feel like a diet, just a better way of eating......

I have a question....what kind of meals do you guys eat for your "wholesome" meals. Like specific foods, because everytime i read about different diets in magizines and on these forums i get confused on what specific foods to look for. So what exactly do some of you guys eat ?

When on a diet, you look for foods that are high in nutrients yet still low in calories. For protiens, most people eat skinless chicken breasts as it's the leanest cut with alot of protien and very little fat and no carbs. There's also, tuna, and very lean beef like Sirloin, but that's not as leans as the chicken or tuna. You want to stay away from processed foods. Good carbs are whole grain bread ( a little) yams, beans, rice (brown or basmati) try and stick with low glycemic carbs and obviously veggies. Many people forget about efa's which are very important to a diet. As much as we don't need most saturated and trans fats we DO need essential fatty acids found in flax seed, peanuts, some beans and olive oil etc. We don't need alot of fats but fats just the same. This is just a quick response in a nutshell, there are alot of foods I'm omitting but you get the picture.........
