What would be a safe amount of protein to ingest between a period of two hours after working out. And is it true excess protein will be converted to fat? Random question, what do you guys put on your eggs aside from salt and pepper. I had no problem eating 5-6 eggs a day for a week or two but im starting to get really sick of eggs. I need something to put on them.

hot sauce... tabasco or louisiana is my fav. and i don't think excess protein is converted to fat. i believe you just pass what your body doesn't use

Why is that? I have always been told get your protein from real food if you can, i generally have a protein shake after working out anyways. and my meal is right after or i get enough eggs, ham, potatoes, and biscuit in me to tide me over until a real meal.

Excess protein can be converted to fat through process called lipogenesis. Only that protein is harder than other nutrients because of its high TE.

Agreed, try to get your proteins from food. As long as you dont have many yolks, there are no real downsides. I tend to have my shakes around training too. Mainly because i have whey protein isolates so they are in your system quick. i have 1 before and one after with something sweet.

2 scoops of whey and an equal amount of Dextrose in your PWO shake and then eat a good meal no longer than 1 hour after your workout. IF you hit it hard, your body will be depleted of many nutrients. Itll all get used.

of course its better(real food) but have u ever heard that whey protein is the fastest digesting protein, which in turn protect ur musles from breaking down after eight hours of sleep.. just try it as soon as u get up
