On the advice of a couple of you all i went to walmart to replenish my supplements. 12 Dollars for FIVE POUNDS of Whey? Is that a joke? Or can they really afford to sell it that cheap? It said twenty grams/ serving but i couldnt bring myself to buy it, so i went for the Nitro-tech at GNC again w/ 20% off. How pure is this body fortress stuff. Also at walmart, the creatine blend was only 2.5 grams of creatine per scoop, so i bought 3 pounds of 100% (supposedly) pharmacutical grade creatine at GNC instead. Sounds stupid i know but that stuff just seemed so cheap!

the way to evaluate protein is to take the amount per serving in grams and divide it by the serving size in grams... for example if the wal-tein is 20 grams of protein per serving and 25 grams is the serving size, then its good. you want a protein that comes out to 80% or more...

I think that some money saved is best but still go with a reputable company.

Taste it and get back to us. LOL Had their soy protein once when I was in a bind, it wasn't bad, but I have hear horror stories of their whey taste. I buy my whey, Multis, and Muscle Milk from powernutrition.net, but will buy most of my other supps, like garlic, Flax oil, glucosamine etc from Wal-Mart. Their glucosamine is dirt cheap and decent quality.

i have my first day/orientation at price chopper tomarrow, so since i've been out of work i bought the walmart stuff cuz i aint got the funds... it seems to work the same... glutamine, creatine, and protien... and the protein is 30g = 20mg of protein, so thats about 68% i think... i dont think thats too bad

Personally, Tdrop, I'd do the same thing you do... I just can't buy my shit from walmart, I just don't know. ;p But the flaxseed and glucosamine? yeah why not?

Yeah, it just seems like it was TOO good a deal, i didnt buy any from walmart, but i may next time just to see how it tastes and the purity. I wanted to try MuscleMilk, but the local GNC didnt carry it, geuss i'll have to order it. Also at walmart, NO2 pills, which i believe to be kind of pointless anyway, were only 11 dollars, compared to $80 GNC. I dont buy that anyway but what a difference.

Also, pay attention to the quality of protein. Try to stay away from proteins that are mostly concentrate. The better ones are anything with isolate and either micro or ultra filtration. I stopped going to GNC a while back cuz Vitamin world has most of the same stuff but their sales days are better. Buy 1 get 1 or 50% of just one (VW prod's)on sale days.

Yeah, the nearest Vitamin World is in the west county mall, i dont want my rims stolen, so i'll stick with GNC :)

Are you talking about West County off of 270?

Whey timing is more important than whey quality. I have an entire book on the subject. Numerous studies were done on the effects of low quality protein, corn, and the effects of high quality protein whey isolate, and the results when timed correct were only about 4% difference in absorption. Not sure how exactly they were able to get these results though. You mess with the timing and get it wrong, they both had horrible results.

We had a vitamin world pop up in our mall right accross from GNC. They had big signs sayin 50% off and all this so I went in and their stuff is still way overpriced. it was like $40 for a 5 pound thing of whey Reg $80. Who pays $80?

The only downside i can think of in the walmart whey is it doesnt have many aminos in it whereas the big names have lots of essential aminos.
