Heres a quick faq on creatine I cut and pasted. Creatine is an amino acid (amino acids are the building blocks of protein) which is made in the body by the liver and kidneys, and is derived from the diet through meat and animal products. Creatine is categorized as a food supplement by the Food and Drug Administration (like a vitamin) and is available over the counter at drug stores and nutrition centers. In the body, creatine is changed into a molecule called "phosphocreatine" which serves as a storage reservoir for quick energy. Phosphocreatine is especially important in tissues such as the voluntary muscles and the nervous system which periodically require large amounts of energy. Take it 30 min before workout and right after workout preferrably with juice as the glucose will help force the creatine in the muscle. 2 times a day is the normal dose. You can take it on an empty stomach it doesnt really matter. Be sure and drink lots of water to avoid cramping.

I prefer the powder because i lasts longer than the pill form. |

hmm... is there a difference to the powder and tabs? Which one is more effective or are they the same? And also, can you guys please critique on my protein shake routine since i only take it twice a day. Which of the two routines do you prefer? 1) protein shake 30 mins before workout and another protein shake right after workout 2) protein shake right after workout and another protein shake before going to bed.

On the protein though I really like taking one before bed because that is when your muscles are going to recover the most. I always take my protein before my workout.

i am a fan of some god old fashioned whole food preworkout, like an hour or so before and then a whey shake right after workout. before bed, a shake is great. Depends what kind of protein it is though too. if its whey, mix some natty pb with it so the fat will slow disgestion. otherwise casein is the shit before bed, plus it tastes 300 times better than whey...

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. You guys said i should take the creatine before my protein shake right? So is it okay to take the protein shake RIGHT AFTER i drink the creatine or do i have to wait a couple of minutes before i can drink the protein shake?

follow the directions on the bottle

Yep, i do. Though both say after work out, i was just wondering if there has to be a time gap between the creatine and the protein shake, or if i can drink right after.

30min

wait 30 mins to let the creatine get absorbed into the body. If you took the creatine and then ate right after, the creatine would have a more difficult time being absorbed. So lift, take creatine immediately, wait 30 mins, eat and protein shake.
