I'm 17 and I weigh 145, my bench is up to 205 rite now but im havin trouble wearin out my muscles and gettin them to the point where they are sore the next day. I was wonderin if supplements would even be worth takin or if it would be a waste for someone my age. If you think they are, some good names of effective supplements would be helpful....I am also thinkin about creatine, but i heard once you get off of it, you lose much of what you have gained...is this true? Thanks.

you lose 40% of what you gained is what I know to be true. Its mostly the water that your muscles have stored that you are losing. Not sure if supplements will make you sore the next day. Everyone loves no-xplode and that will get you jacked up to get you the extra sets/reps you are looking for to get you sore maybe? You weigh 145 and you can bench 205? is that on a machine or actual bench press?

soreness is lactic acid in your muscles. not worry about not getting sore

Yeah, I'm at about 145, it varies, but I put up 205 with no help about a week ago on the flat bench. No machine, just the regular bench at the YMCA. I rep 185 about 4 or 5 times and it may include minimal back popping. Today I went to GNC and looked at Superpump 250....I'm gonna go read about it in a topic i saw down below but I wanted to know what yall thought of that too? thanks for your help

I would recommend no2 over super pump if you wanna go that route.

Have you tried either of them and gotten some good results? I've already wasted my money on gakic, that 10.5% increases is a load of crap, I didn't see any immediate increase....So, you probably understand that I don't want to waste it again....

You get a good pump from no2 and better recovery so you should lift better leading to bigger gains.

I've usd no2 a while ago. I liked it. I got anaptor when it came out. Most of those supps are B.S.. I would stick with the basics. Creatine, some form of protein. multi-vit. and if you want you can use something like no2.

The only thing wit the creatine, is I really don't wanna blow up on it and then lose it all when i stop taking it. Isn't that what happens?
posted by Dex
i probably put on 3lbs when im on it and its not "blowing up." creatine is good for your muscles so take it. you may gain 3lbs and lose 2.5lbs but its mainly water anyways. blowing up is your first time using 750mg of test :) *in no way am i telling you to use steroids

i dont see any reason to cycle creatine.
posted by jeepsheep
What do you cycle then? Anything? I was seriously thinkin about NO-Xplode.
posted by howlowcanigo
No-xplode is supposed to be 12 weeks on 4 weeks off but I don't think you have to cycle.
posted by estray
You dont have to but youll get used to it after about a month. I know i do and then taking it becomes pointless as I cant get that jacked up feeling off it anymore. Thats why they say to cycle it.
posted by jeepsheep
So should I try NO-Xplode? I don't wanna waste my money like I did on Gakic again.... I tried Pump Tech and that worked pretty well, pumped my arms huge, but didn't help my chest or bench...

no xplode is good stuff. it would be worth it but make sure you are spending most your money on food.

I've heard the only thing you never need to cycle is protien and vitamins. It makes sense to me. The last guy is right though. Eating like a horse makes a huge difference. I've worked out 5 days a week for a year now and I've went from 138 to 163. I've only taken protien and glutamine supplementes except for the past month is the only month that i've gotten on a NO2 product. Eat Eat Eat.

i just didnt cycle it i just kept taking it, but i never got the "pump" feeling u speak of.

SuperPump is good stuff, I'm about a week and a half in to using it, and I like it alot. It's basically the same as NO Xplode, I compared the product contents in the store. And the price is almost dead even as well, so it basically comes down to what label and brand you like more.

did he really say GNC?

Poor fellar.
posted by jeepsheep
I did say GNC, but that's why I asked in a recently posted thread "Best site to order supplements" from. Only reason I went in GNC was to look and to actually see the product first hand before buying it.
