Anyone know alot about it? i beileve its an insoluble fiber that can be used in protein shakes to help keep the protein in your digestion system longer and therefor your large intestine will absorb more of the protein..correct?

I drink psyllium regularaly. Drink a glass daily and you'll be REALLY glad you did. Psyllium is bulk forming fiber. It's not really broken down by the digestive system, and will form bulk as it goes through your digestive system. Helps keep things clean and working right. The normal goal of a protein shake is to get the protein absorbed quickly after a workout. In that case I'd steer clear of psyllium. During the rest of the day I think your'e better off eating instead of relying on shakes. If for some reason you REALLY want to use psyllium to slow protein shake absorption then as a regular psyllium user and a regular whey drinker I'd really recommend drinking a glass of psyllium and then the shake separately. Psyllium "sets up" quickly and thickens quickly as every second goes by...kind of turns into a bunch of little pieces of gel-like stuff. IMO the consistency of psyllium would not make a protein shake very pallitable.

are you sure? a friend of mine that use to body build for 8 years said just adding a teaspoon of the stuff to your whey drink with give your digestion system more time to absorb the protein.

It's all realative. When I drink a glass of that stuff I use at least two or three tablespoons of the sugar free orange kind with water. I can't imagine putting that in a protein shake. Of course doing so would thicken it and slow digestion. I just think the idea sounds nasty cause I'm familiar with psyllium's consistency. If you're getting a flavor of psyllium husk that's compatible with the flavor of your protein shake and only using a teaspoon I don't see what it would hurt, and it makes sense that it would slow digestion to some degree...but isn't the entire point of a protein shake to get the protein to your muscles as quick as possible after lifting? If you're looking for slow assimilation, there are other types of protein that absorb slower by nature, and IMO would better suit your needs that won't require mixing with psyllium. This is just my opinion, and no, I'm not sure about anything. Good Luck
