Supplements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- first off I need to say I have been away from the gym for about 10 yrs now and am getting back into it with a vengance. For the past 4 weeks I have been dieting and doing high reps and have lost 32 lbs. I know I still need to drop another 30 pounds or so but I want to start some bulking and strength lifting. I know there are numerous supplements out there but they are all new to me. Time back I remember Andro, Creatine, Vanadyl and DHEA to be some more popular and worth while supplements out there but it seems like those are now old dinosars and extinct. I heard Andro is now banned and so are things with Ephadrine. SOOOOOO what would anyone recommend that has shown some good results. Thanks.

a proper diet first supps last, bottom line no supplements will compensate for a diet poor diet neither and theirs no such thing as a magic pill brotha everything takes work and the best supps are protein, maybe a preworkout shake and post workout maybe a thermo but the test boost can mess you up.

well I understand about the diet being essential and I can honestly say for the past 4 weeks I have broken down my meals to 5 a day about every 2 - 2 1/2 hours with it consisting of boiled chicken and boiled eggs. This past week I have started to change the menu to lean turkey with brown rice. So I do understand what you mean by diet is essential. I started off at 290 and have dropped to 258 currently. I would luv to get down to about 215- 220 lbs like I was 10 yrs ago but being currently 38 and standing at 5'11 I know there is a lot of hard work still ahead of me.

I see what you mean...... I did not write that too good did I. I have been doing high reps of 20- 25 and would like to now do low reps of heavy weight. I know there is no magic pill out there where you can lose weight and gain definition plus gain strength. Thats why initially I was just looking to lose the weight and then start lifting but numerous folks said to lift while dieting it would help speed up the process. I just feel if I start to lift heavy I'm gonna have to take something for strength as opposed to just something to speed up metalbolism. Any suggestions. I am taking whey now and a multivitamin.

you said you dropped from 290 to 258.....how long did it take you to drop that weight and how did it affect your lifting? Did you lose strength when you lost weight?

I went from 290 to 258 in 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks I lost 25 lbs and then only lost 7 the following 2 weeks. As for the losing of strength when I lost weight I will I no because I had not been lifting period and started off with very light weight doing reps of 20- 25. Now I want to start lifting heavy and am looking for a good supplement to give me the strength for it.

32 pounds in 4 weeks? Good God, is that healthy?! A pound a day is either amazing or insane. I cant believe you eat nothing but rice and turkey. I think I can finally quit whining about having to eat the same meals everyday. Good job. Oh, and are you drinking alot of water?
