| well, I am 17. I have been lifting for a few months, trying to bulk up for the summer. I am 6 foot, and 135 pounds. VERY skinny. I started taking creatine in the pill form, but now I am taking powder since I ran out of pills. How much should I be taking, and should I take it before or after I workout? Also, I take whey protein, should I take more than usual to gain more weight? Thanks in advance!:thumbs: |

| rough estimate -150lbs = 2-4g daily, +151lbs = 4-7g daily .. Although I have 10g .. im not too sure about the loading phase and for how long.. someone else here will know more. how many protein shakes a day are you having? I think youll need a little more food if you want to grow bigger, dont rely on the shakes and dont even count them as an independent meal. EDIT - by the way I take the creatine post workout |

| post workout means b4 you workout right? I am new, jsut making sure! And I am drinking 1 protein shake a day, but I might start drinking 2 or 3 a day. Can I mix the creatine (powder form) with my protein shakes, or should I take the creatine alone? thanks dust, lol |

| you should take the creatine by itself with water. ive heard that there is a loading phase of 15g/day for a week, and then after that you take about 5g/day. thats what i go by. make sure you drink plenty of water too, it makes the creatine more effective and i always feel really thirsty on creatine anyways |

| I like to load the crap out of creatine for about a month or two and then cyle off of it for about a month. So far as I understand, your body adapts to creatine supplementation quickly and it doesn't take long for it to stop facilitating torque increase. |

| I actually did a ton of reading on creatine before i ever took it. there are several different schools of thought but from what i have found....... you should do a loading phase of 5-7days (10g per day) just remember how expensive that stuff is because once you are loaded what your muscles dont take up will pass right through you. after the loading phase you will go to a maintnence (5g per day) creatine helps your muscles retain water so you will certainly want to up your water intake! the creatine sucks up the water from anywhere it can get it!! (I have to cycle off because it dries my skin out bad!) and you will probably bloat a little since you are so small. I would say you would be more than fine to take it with your post (after) workout shake. that is how i have always taken it.(or with apple juice) but just make sure to take in lots of protein at least 2-3 shakes a day to go along with the added creatine and you should start to see stellar gains. and always remember that there is no substitute for good ol' food. if you are bulking eat like a horse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbs: :thumbs: |
