what does your diet and routine look like? and what are your stats? you have been asking alot of questions and i think we can all answer them better if we all know where you are coming from

don't forget your glutimine!

do u have probs disolving ur glutamine?? i have it in powder n it like takes forever if it even does.....

posted by bearman1
i buy 500mg capsules

posted by Stricken
tablets work well but i prefer the powder. Take 1 teaspoon an dump it in your mouth, then pour in some water, close your mouth and move it around. Disolves quickly when constantly moving and its quicker and easier to take after a workout rather then stirring a spoonful into a glass of water.

posted by bearman1
that actually is a good idea i'm going to do that myself....i might be missing the "window of opportunity" waiting for the capsules to dissolve.

Totally timing is everything. You can eat, take supplements, and/or gear but timing is EVERYTHING because you can miss out on some good recovery gains because of timing.--- Listen to Bearman.

i take 5g of creatine within like 2 mins of finishing working out, then 15 mins later put 5g glutamine in a homemade weight gainer shake then 30 mins later eat a hearty meal...hows the timing on that look?

Take creatine before the workout and take the protein straight away after a workout.
It is useless to use protein 15 minutes after a workout when it is designed to be absorbed faster than the food. from food it takes 15-40 minutes to absorb the protein that is why u take the protein after the workout and then 20 minutes later u eat.

?????

I wouldn't say its usless to take protein in on anytime of the day if you are a serious lifter and know what you can absorb.

Yeah I would say take in protein before and after! I also know guys who drink big protein shakes during workouts.

posted by Stricken
Simply put, do what you feel works best for your body.

i agree but not if someone is using creatine or something like no-xplode before the workout.

posted by csyflt
Yeah that is true too. I think you have to take no-xplode 30 min. after a protein ahke and 1 hr. after a meal. Isnt that what it says swat.

posted by S.W.A.T.
take it on an empty stomach 20 minutes before a workout and also take creatine straight away before workout so then you can have protein straight away after the workout.
That is what i do.

there is nothing wrong with having a pretein shake 15 min after your workout.that is fast enough to get it in your body as long as its whey.you have a 45 min window after workouts to get your fast acting protein/carbs in.btw make sure you are having some carbs with that too

posted by neo
i drink a creatine punch then i inject 10 units of apeidra (quick short acting insulin)then work out, then a few minutes after work out 52 grams of vanilla whey powder.its seem to be working well for what i am shooting for, plus i am a diabetic, wieght training is great for diabetic's,i love it.:cool:neo

:)and it still seems to be working:cool:neo
